The United Kingdom: The Liz Truss CRASHING THE PORK MARKET WEEKS 🐷🐖📉📅🥬 (1 Viewer)

Honestly, I totally understand why Johnson coming back is galling and hard to swallow, but he’s not some invincible political mastermind, at all. He’s in a far more vulnerable position than Sunak, and it’s only his supreme arrogance which is blinding him to it.

Johnson wins = mass resignations, huge party infighting, near certain election, which Johnson will fight hard but almost certainly lose.

Sunak wins = a few Johnson loyalists grouse, maybe a few even walk, but enough remain for him to govern. He avoids calling an election at all costs, as do his colleagues, knowing how much more likely they are to lose their jobs than they would under Johnson. So we’re stuck with Tories for another two years.

I guess it’s a case of optics vs outcomes. Because even if Johnson was able to cobble together a government, I’d take him over Sunak. Sunak’s policies are HORRENDOUS. At least Johnson seems to take climate change somewhat seriously, and he’s not nearly as inclined towards gutting the public sector.

The only practical difference between Johnson and Sunak is that Johnson will fuck up the country by accident whereas Sunak will do it intentionally.

That stat that only 7% of under 50s vote Tory makes me nauseous. Younger people are generally so oblivious to politics because there's nothing for them to root for. Most people in their 20s have never known any other government since they were able to vote. There's only one right wing party and a lot of left wing people just don't care enough to vote, so we are in this continuous rut of people governed by a group who were elected by a small fraction of the country, most of whom vote based on singular selfish reasons (Brexit, immigration, taxes) and will be dead within a generation. A generation that will still be suffering the effects of the last 6 weeks.

It's a fucking NIGHTMARE.

Of course, if Sunak does become PM we will have to put up with the Tories wanging on about their diversity whilst promoting policies which disproportionately harm women and people of colour.

I fucking love that this fucking cunt came rushing back from his holiday thinking it would be to open arms and he could “save the country”

Thank fuck the blob threw the towel in. Only thing with Sunak is he's far more likely to limp on to 2024 I feel, which means longer until we can get rid of these fuckers.

Of course, if he did have 100 nominations ( :basil: ), they could all now throw themselves behind a different candidate.

So how does this work, does it mean the Parliament will have three former PMs as MPs? Or will Truss quit?
