Could the “- In Liverpool!” bit be removed from the title now?

(I am up to date with my contests).
 
Eurovision Twitter is going apeshit over this, but then they go apeshit over any minor change so no need to pay much attention.

At the end of the day, about 90% of the qualifiers will be the same so I don’t see what there is to get worked up about.

The only difference really is that there’ll be 3-4 finalists with wider public appeal (and if past form tells us anything, they’ll be heavier on the bangers), so what could be wrong with that?

One of my all time favourite tweets was by some loon very concerned after the announcement in 2015 Australian eurofans were going to be violently attacked in Viena by hardcore eurofans

Do you realise this change is not retroactive? Given the amount of tweets and HOT CHAT I've seen about it today one would think so :eyes:

No, but obviously that's the easiest way of helping people understand the effect it's likely to have...?!?

I guess it’s an indication of the types of songs that MIGHT be more/less favoured in the future.
But tbh it’s hard to see much of a pattern in terms of genres, geography, or even quality.

So we are left with just counting how many we personally like :D tbh it comes out about 50:50 for me anyway

And also I guess we will never know how things changed because presumably the backup jury vote (if there is one) won’t be published.

Not that lack of evidence ever stopped euroloons from getting furious about whatever conclusion they jumped to :D

Totally, but that's nothing compared with the scenes I've seen today from Argentinian football fans. In comparison to them eurofans are totally normal and rational, my goodness

Euro loons can boil a complex but limited data set to a few violently black and white conclusions better than even the world’s best supercomputer.
