SameThanks octy, now I'll have How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria going around my head all day
What a burden![]()

Darren Hayes is cool.I'd usefor a grubby train rather than Darren Hayes.
Fair point. I think I caught a few diseases from the train. I'm not sure I'd catch as many from Darren Hayes. Not as cool as a filthy train.
The vibe so far has been off your face drunks, druggies with fighting staffies, and some graffiti.I mean London is about thirty times bigger, or something. Of course it has more to offer. Parts of Brighton are grotty, but then I've never seen a city without grotty bits. And the most fun is often to be found in the grotty adjacent bits at least. Brighton is more about the vibe than the sights, anyway, isn't it? Particularly for you when the beach is no novelty. Not that I rate Brighton's beach at all really.
I bought a nice fruit crumble bun in the lanes. That was a highlight.Last time I went to Brighton it seemed to be full of cockney wide boys in flat caps being ‘chaps’.
And I bumped into Zoe Ball in the lanes.
We did see some street art which was pretty good actually. I like street art. Shit teen spray paint I don't like. From what I remember, the best street art there is very much right next to the grottiest parts. Very similar to here in fact - until it became a big thing and Upfest started, at least.

No, it's never appealed. I've been to Edinburgh. I liked that.Rachey have you ever been to Glasgow? I'd love your review![]()

I'm very judgemental of cities tho, I do admit that.

They are all in a relatively small area south of the city centre. There has been an annual Urban Paint Festival (UPFest) very close by which is always crazy busy, but it has moved to every two years, with this year being a rest year.@lolly I love those!

Marocco's restaurant on the seafront in Hove is one of my favourite restaurants anywhere. It's a relatively simple trattoria style affair inside, but the seafood is as good as any I've had in this country.Oh God the seafront and West Street is full of London cunts
I try to use my local knowledge to indulge some of the cultural and foodie side of the city, when I go. One of the best locations I stayed when visiting was the Brighton/ Hove boundary. So many lovely pubs and restaurants and really not far from the centre.
Don't recall that one, but would probably recognise it. As Mr Ag doesn't drink, we focus instead on eating VERY WELL. There's a charming Greek place on Western Road, which I love. The Lion and Lobster between Bedford and Norfolk Square, does the best roast I have ever eaten. Always a go to when down there. Failing that a trip on the 88 bus up to Devil's Dyke on a Sunday for a roast with a view.Marocco's restaurant on the seafront in Hove is one of my favourite restaurants anywhere. I think it's better known as an ice cream parlour by day. Yes that's Western Road. There's loads of nice stuff scattered all over the city, but they stand out a bit away from the hubbubI think it's better known as an ice cream parlour by day. Right on the front, a couple of minutes from the seemingly rather busy in the evening public toilets.
I'm not sure of the road names (it may be Western Road), but I've spent a lot of time eating and drinking on that long road which runs parallel to the seafront a few hundred metres back, all the way through Hove and beyond. I love a place where there are loads of independent cafes and restaurants rather than the chains, which is increasingly rare in many towns and even cities now, but Brighton seems to thrive on them away from the main routes. I'm never quite sure where Brighton becomes Hove exactly (or where Hove becomes whatever is next), but I do recall whenever I asked my friend who I go with that the nicer places all seem to be Hove rather than Brighton itself.
I have a feeling we may have only done NorthBrighton is full of rogues. It's part of it's "charm". They keep themselves to themselves for the most part. Go on a sunny day in early autumn and it's charms will be more obvious. I prefer the parks of Brighton to the beaches. Also the food, drink and shopping is top tier.
As a former resident I've shown Brighton to Mr Ag and he loves it. @Rachey did you do both sets of Lanes? If so, did you go into Snoopers Paradise? That's quite special.
