Labour: The Keir Starmer years

Sir Keir's won - are you happy with this outcome?

The Sue Gray stuff is killing me. The Tories getting so wound up is comedy gold.

I love how they are trying to spin this like it was some orchestrated Starmer plot. DID SIR KIER HYPNOTISE BORIS TO HAVE A LOAD OF PARTIES? FIND OUT ON PAGE 7.

Really tackling all the issues no one cares about. Imagine living in Central London and being bothered by the smell of WEED.

He’s got the centre right on board, he’s 25 points ahead in the polls, god knows why he’s lurching even further to the right.

The man who famously pressed for convictions of kids who stole bottled water during a riot is going to tackle crime?

It’s so depressing that all we can do is hope this pathetic posturing will win over the gammons.

Him presenting the GRA reforms as having anything whatsoever to do with single sex spaces is the biggest fucking red flag. He knows that's completely false, and once a-fucking-gain he's happy throwing the trans community under the bus for... why? Actually fucking WHY? A complete disgrace.

I was OK tolerating the wet cunt until he came for THE WEED.

It's fucking legal on prescription. Whats next, taking morphine off patients?

It's RUINING LIVES, Ronald.

Poor little Beatrice and Octavius. One night, they're smelling weed through the window, the next, they're snorting gack up the gunny on the mean streets of Islington - and you don't even CARE.

And all because they injected a marijuana once

Useless fucking wet wipe. A blank C&A mannequin onto which endless focus groups and the Daily Fucking Express can project their will. Absolutely fuck that guy and fuck his whole centre-right, fash-sopping rhetoric.

There was an article posted on a Manchester news site's facebook yesterday about a big bust of a weed farm. Even when I look at all comments to pop the echo bubble, all the replies were about the fallacy of criminalisation, the waste of talent, the potential taxation revenue and the inevitable 'liked and shared hope I win' lolaclarts. People really don't give a fuck about a bit of weed.

Unfortunately I think the best bet is for a strong Lib Dem candidate to run against her. Canterbury is a very marginal seat, so assuming she isn't getting deselected any time soon, she's probably quite safe for as long as the Tories remain in freefall.

I believe Keir quoted Margaret Thatcher in his speech on RULE OF LAW and said she was RIGHT :eyes:

The MASK has TRULY slipped OFF.

No mainstream political party in the UK wants to tackle the real issue of inequality and wealth redistribution. Until that happens, he can BANG UP as many BACKSTREET DEALERS as he wants but people will continue to BREAK THE LAW because it's MASSIVELY STACKED against them. It's not particularly DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND.

Are the greens still a bit TERFY? I’ll still vote for them I think as my local MP is the GLORIOUS DIANE, otherwise I’d fuck em off.

I think they are in certain quarters and the Lib Dems, I don’t really know what their stance is (like most things)

The Greens have been fairly successful in fending off their terf element. It looks as if they were essentially infiltrated because it was thought they were an easy sell for the "iT's nAtUrE!" argument and they've had some edgy moments but they've largely repelled them getting into any position of authority.

Didn’t the Scottish Greens cut ties with them over TERFism though?

I see Starmer has been throwing even more red meat to the TERFs this weekend with a piece in the Times (paywalled so not linking to it). At least he waited until the day after Transgender Day of Visibility to do so, I suppose? I'm sick of saying it but what a disgrace he is.

Also:

Surely someone somewhere is showing him this shit?!

I think the critical part there is 'among Labour voters'. Sadly I think he's still completely obsessed with clawing back floating voters and neutralising the culture war attack front that the Tories are going all-in on. He doesn't want the next election to be dominated by him and his MPs being asked to define what a woman is at every debate. (There was a memo to this effect which leaked recently I believe).

I do hope they get a bit of a kicking to the greens in the Council elections. That's probably the best/only chance of inspiring a shift in direction before the next election.

Be interesting to see what Corbyns numbers were like amongst labour voters

I had a quick look and only found this

Yeah I think this is me done now with Labour.

I've gone along with the anyone "but the Tories/get the Tories out line for a long time now", but Labour can fuck off with this hateful bollocks.

I'm not going to vote for a party that thinks "we should look at possibly removing protections for some of the most vulnerable people in society"

It bares repeating...FUCK OFF.
