My main take away from this post, was how pleasurable smoking and drinking on a train was.

Yeah its been a while, I lose track not been to a club in years. But YES - the whole site where the Astoria was now is completely transformed because of the Elizabeth Line and a new modern theatre there - it looks amazing around Tottenham Court Road now, which was always a DUMP.

There's a newish club/music venue on the other side of the road now, it seems to be part of an arts complex. I saw Friendly Fires there earlier this year. They had a cloakroom system involving your mobile phone, which was rather different from back in the day and didn't seem to run entirely smoothly.

I was watching with some curiosity as Amanda from The Traitors and Connor from Rise and Fall promoted their headlining at Pride Canterbury on Instagram; curious because I didn’t understand what they were supposed to DO on stage. Questions were answered as I watched a video of them repeatedly asking the audience if they were having a good time, and clapping. My husband made a remark about David Brent and I nodded.
