It is very stunning. The walk up above the shore is lovely.
My colleague's family have a house there that has been in the fam for years.
Years ago the whole estate was owned by the Stewart family, an Anglo Irish aristocratic family who also own a big house near where I am now.
The matriarch, Lady Londonderry, had a private walkway to the church from her house, and would go daily, but had a private section because she refused to pray with the common people/peasants.
From her private space, the only house she could see in the vicinity was my colleague's family's. And she demanded by letter that the family paint it black so that it wouldn't be visible to her in the evenings.
Her grandfather (great?) refused and fought it. Thankfully it was around the time of unrest when Anglo Irish landlords were being chased out of Ireland, the West and South especially, and the Londonderry family fled to England soon after, and the house was never painted.
The end.
It's a great story, and she's a very sensible woman who wouldn't exaggerate.
