Morning girls. I was all up, all ready, walking to the bus stop, to catch the early bus.

It bloody drive right past me. But fortune favours the lazy and I've returned to bed.

And in middle aged rant time, FUCK ME, I'm bored of this ENDLESS RAIN.

On the later, much slower bus. I'm already late. It's cold, I'm super tired and many many things hurt.

Picking a new kitchen and bathroom today. How domesticated.

'The Shredquarters', good grief. At least you know that it's an instant arsehole magnet.

Has anyone used baking glue or the like to make gingerbread houses? I'm wondering if there's a cheaper alternative as I need to buy in bulk.

There's a new gym recently opened here called 'The Shredquarters'.

I can't tell you how much I want to hurl a brick through the window every time I go past it.

I’m long overdue a hate campaign, this could be a good target

Absolutely set up by someone who ‘loves bants’

What is everyone eating for dinner tonight?

I've made a lovely potato and leek soup and it's warming my cockles (and barnacles) up nicely :)

@Rita I don't know if you know Ards Friary/Park but I was talking to my colleague about it today and heard a wonderful story

Near Dunfanaghy? Oh yes. It is absolutely stunning there and only around an hours drive. I haven’t been since I’ve moved back. Please share the story.

It is very stunning. The walk up above the shore is lovely.

My colleague's family have a house there that has been in the fam for years.

Years ago the whole estate was owned by the Stewart family, an Anglo Irish aristocratic family who also own a big house near where I am now.

The matriarch, Lady Londonderry, had a private walkway to the church from her house, and would go daily, but had a private section because she refused to pray with the common people/peasants.

From her private space, the only house she could see in the vicinity was my colleague's family's. And she demanded by letter that the family paint it black so that it wouldn't be visible to her in the evenings.

Her grandfather (great?) refused and fought it. Thankfully it was around the time of unrest when Anglo Irish landlords were being chased out of Ireland, the West and South especially, and the Londonderry family fled to England soon after, and the house was never painted.

The end.

It's a great story, and she's a very sensible woman who wouldn't exaggerate.

That is such a sweet story.

@Lady Londonderry
