Eurovision 2024: Malmö Arena

I'm siding with the X fans and hope it's a decision the EBU will walk back on in a year or two. Will the visual theme stay the same for every contest going forward as well? They're part of a package and what will be the point of buying merch every year now

I think the last time we had a genuine surprise on the list was when Slovakia was in in 2011 despite saying publicly they'd withdrawn beforehand (it later transpired they'd forgotten to do so officially so figured they might as well stay in rather than pay a fine :D).
Screaming! :D

Eurovision Bulgaria on Twitter has been making cryptic replies about an announcement being made in due course to people asking if they’re in for 2024. This is in contrast to earlier replies saying it definitely wouldn’t happen for 2024. They’ve also posted quoting the 41 number that’s been floating around, but this account is really quite hit and miss with how reliable it is - it definitely was the official BNT account previously though, so it’s possible.

The BNT Eurovision Twitter account keeps teasing and has now retweeted this from Victoria :eyes:

And OGAE sent an email with the package prices

The fan packages are going on sale on Monday, and I think you will have 24 hours to buy them. Those of you in the UK branch of OGAE must apply for the ballot by Midday tomorrow.

Looks like I am going to have a busy weekend sorting out the ballot and packages!

Still don’t know whether or not I’m going so not bothering with tickets. I’ve done the last two AND getting Girls Aloud tickets is a bigger priority for my bank account :disco:

POP ME TO THE TOP OF THE PILE, LOVE :disco:

I'm not looking forward to the BUN FIGHT of getting tickets, but to be fair, I got in easy enough last year towards the end of the time, so I imagine I'll manage something similar SOMEWHEN.

And £600 for tickets for all three shows!? That's INSANE! Wasn't one ticket for the Grand Final close to that last year? Or am I making that up...?

Looking forward to how easy it will be to get tickets next week when everyone else decides to boycott :eyes:

What is the deal with the ballot?

Do you get 2 tickets offered if you are a member?

I’m in the 5% section as I only signed up more recently

It's packages only and you have to be partnered with another member to get 2 tickets, otherwise it's just one.

You should have gotten an email with proper instructions in a Word file. And then a shitty one moaning about loads of people getting it wrong :D

Gotcha!

And yes I got the moaning 😃

Also, whilst I appreciate the idea of the ticket split in theory, it’s something of a CON to not give you access when membership when you join isn’t a full year, it’s just the rest of the year you join in.

It should be that anyone who joined in last year’s membership year has full access as they’ve paid twice already.

The ongoing teasing around Bulgaria/Victoria seems to have evaporated into Victoria doing a cover of "All I Want For Christmas Is You" and possibly also a duet with Blanka :bejba:

I tried queuing for tickets out of curiosity for future years. 107,000 people ahead of me in the queue.

317k here

THIS IS RIDICULOUS. I can't believe those are all human.

Mr Sheena is 15000ish though, and all the events are lumped into one it seems, so fingers crossed...

Lumping them all into one seems so unfair, it removes a huge element of strategising for the more available events.

It doesn't seem very sensible.

I also can't believe how stupidly slow the queue is moving- 20 minutes and I've hardly moved at all.

I've moved less than 2000 places since the queue opened- this doesn't make any sense. Even if you were buying 4 tickets all for the Grand Final, that doesn't bring it to sell out, which is basically what it is saying now...

I've moved forward 100 places in the last 10 minutes. Something is definitely AMISS here.

I imagine that's just people dropping out rather than any actual movement?

Potentially, but considering everyone has been lumped in together and people will be trying for tickets across all the events, that makes no sense whatsoever. The Grand Final might have sold out but no way they've sold 10000 tickets to the family shows, for example.

There's actually no point in trying is there. It's a totally broken system.

And it has been for fucking years but no one seems willing to do anything about it and I'm not ENTIRELY sure why.

Let's face it, Ticketmaster probably owns half the bots!
