I've developed a new enjoyment of this album recently during an ongoing/daily Madonna binge (

) and I just really love how much of it is so soulful.
I just love M's 92-01 run the most, but I think bedtime stories had kind of eluded me sandwiched between two of her very best.
Forbidden Love fucks. it's THE Forbidden Love. I love the kind of Erotica callbacks in the production flourishes dotted around a couple of songs. Human Nature is so camp and goofy but also sharp and incisive. Bedtime Story itself is such a strange song (by design) and kind of previews Ray of Light, almost like a jump off point for the post Evita sound she'd find with William Orbit and techno. it really goes hard in that experimental 90s ambient/trancey sound and feels like a sister song to Sky Fits Heaven in a way.
and Take a Bow is just a daydream and until 94 (and probably overall) her best album closing track? and I will always have LOVE for Don't Stop, and I don't give a fuck
thank god for Madonna basically
