We could have an entire thread for all these cringey phrases people to publicly declare about themselves.113. People who publicly declare "I'm a straight talker"

I was helping a user at work (IT) who went on and accused me of infecting his computer with a virus to make him bad at his job (no, your sheer incompetence manages that) and he started swearing at me and saying that he’s upset other people before and declaring “tbh I haven’t got a filter”113. I JUST TELL IT LIKE IT IS!We could have an entire thread for all these cringey phrases people to publicly declare about themselves.

Ok so you’re aware you haven’t got a filter but don’t bother to use it. Brilliant.![]()
Sorry, but I am not paying for people's bottles of wine, cocktails, starters and desserts when all I have had is a salad and a tap water.115. People who count what and how much of it they ate when it's time to split a bill.

That was just an example, but the people who think having a ZEST FOR LIFE means having to pour endless amounts of alcohol down your throat, and anyone who doesn't is a boring bastard, definitely belong on this thread for me!It’s not their fault you don’t have a ZEST FOR LIFE!
I’m in a little group of 6 people whom regularly go out to various places for dinners around the city to try different things. We mainly go for places where we order loads of dishes and share them amongst everyone tapas style. That was just an example, but the people who think having a ZEST FOR LIFE means having to pour endless amounts of alcohol down your throat, and anyone who doesn't is a boring bastard, definitely belong on this thread for me!
Yeah well that's a bit different. I'm talking about people who take the absolute piss.I’m in a little group of 6 people whom regularly go out to various places for dinners around the city to try different things. We always split the bill equally with a couple of exceptions. If the one vegetarian in the group only has limited options and couldn’t try everything, and if anyone decides they don’t want to drink alcohol, then we’ll just adjust the amount, but still round it up/down accordingly. We don’t itemise the bill because FFS we’re not 20 anymore.

In my learning of German stuff, over there seem to be 2 systems:
1) If you invite a bunch of people specifically to go out (e.g. for your birthday meal) then you pay... for everyone. Because well, you're the one who wanted them there. So whatever you do, make sure to attend everyone else's birthdays!
Go out on your birthday and you’re £400 down after socialising with cunts you’ve decided you don’t actually like. Oh we were being asked this a lot when I was at Europa Park but I wasn’t sure if it was just a touristy thing and if they were just going to split it down the middle anyway. We always just had someone pay and then split on Splitwise2) More casually day to day when a few of you agree to go somewhere between you, then you pay separately. You get automatically asked "together or separate?" be it fast food or a restaurant they always ask. If separate they break down who had what for you and take payments one at a time.
Daniel Kitson nailed this one: "oooh, sorry, I'm just a bit of an arsehole and there's nothing I can do about it except for changing the things I do and say".The bizarre logic of "If I warn people I'm a cunt then I can't be a cunt surely"
Yeah I'm not sure, I think a lot just have it as a family thing at home!God do people even bother having birthday meals then?Go out on your birthday and you’re £400 down after socialising with cunts you’ve decided you don’t actually like.
The point of eating out with friends is to live. You can survive on the bare minimum at home.Sorry, but I am not paying for people's bottles of wine, cocktails, starters and desserts when all I have had is a salad and a tap water.
Not always. Most times I go out just because I don't want to say no.The point of eating out with friends is to live. You can survive on the bare minimum at home.
Yes, not to trigger anyone as I see it's been mentioned in here but it's called COMMON SENSEIsn't there generally a happy medium between whipping the calculator or a notepad out, and taking the piss?
The majority of the time I'm out with friends we just split it evenly, unless some have clearly had more food and/or drink, in which case invariably we/they just offer to put an extra tenner in or whatever.
Some people clearly just have awful friends. Or are an awful friend.
