Nah, See The Day was the old trick of repeating your last big success- I’ll Stand By You had been the biggest hit from the previous campaign and another wintertime ballad cover would have been seen as the path to follow. It was the same as how Steps used to try to recreate the Heartbeat/Tragedy Christmas new song/ cover model.
See The Day was properly chucked out during Christmas week itself, right? It was just to capitalise on the big sales that week, I’d imagine. Biology actually did really well for the time- it hung around for a while and only began to properly drop once See The Day came out.
Chemistry was the problem. It peaked at #11 which was seen as a disaster, despite the sales not being too bad. They were definitely on their way out after the Greatest Hits, but Something Kinda Ooh took everyone by surprise and turned things around.
