Yes, it referred to the Japanese airforce in WW2NAR: Does the 'nip' as in 'there's a nip in the air' have derogatory or offensive origins?
I did wonder - I think I thought it was something to do with nipples and the cold bringing them out, but couldn't quite figure why they would be in the air.Yes, it referred to the Japanese airforce in WW2

I know it's referring to cold - it's the origin of the word 'nip' in that context I was questioning.I always assumed it was in the context of cold. As in Jack Frost nipping at your nose.

Either way, best to play it safe when I get into the office and say I've got nipples like chapel hat pegs.
Don't play it safe. RECLAIM THE NIP
But that doesn't explain the association with cold weather does it?
At most it seems that if there is an issue, it's not with the word itself, but specifically its use in that phrase.
I'd better not mention what my Grandad said he sweated like when it was hot.I think what we’ve learnt here is that the cold weather is HATE FILLED and should banned in favour of a perpetual nice warm summer
No-one ever "needs" to go to CC Blooms.I'm off to Edinburgh for a few days, do I need to go to CC Blooms?

Well my new phone has decided it doesn’t like my Apple Watch Series 3 that I’ve had since 2017 I think. I called my phone company and the poor kid on the phone was like “wow you still have a working one?” Needless to say I now have to get a new watch![]()
Maybe you just need an old phone!
