Honestly, don’t know why I bother to live some days!

Anyway, MORNING LADIES!

My dear husband accidentally ordered 12 packets of 3 sponges. Feel like I need to do a giveaway. He's attempted to tidy them away but I keep finding packets in seemingly every room of the house

I've just made tomato soup. It used up a whole 6 of the 100000000 tomatoes I've grown

I made a load of pasta sauce base before I went to Tokyo with ours and we used some last night and it was fucking incredible.

Tomatoes really are entirely bulletproof. We didn’t water ours for three weeks, left to rot in a hot polytunnel and we’ve come back and they’re flourishing :disco:

I’ve just been to the allotment and harvested a load of pears.

Zero interest in pears to be honest, so now have to work out what to do with them. THERE’S ONLY SO MUCH CHUTNEY YOU CAN MAKE.

Maybe a suitably autumnal crumble?

Potato blight rather than tomato blight down here this season apparently, but we’ve missed out on both, thankfully :disco:

Make a big vat of perry.

Make a big vat of perry.

That’s actually on my future list of working out how to do it but we don’t have a press or room for storing any such implements currently…

I think I have a trapped nerve in my back. Sign me up to the old man funky plan.

What do you put in your home made pasta sauce?

It’s just a base, passata really. Olive oil, cherry tomatoes with skins, garlic, chilli. Fry off and blitz. Freeze and then use it as the basis of any tomato sauce.

Last night I made an Amatriciana with bacon, onion and peppers.

Love this. I am in my textured vegetable protein passata era
