Friday is going to be as rubbish as Linda

Oh yeah nobody in my family has the same accent. My dad is south Liverpool, my mum is north, my sister is more Kirkby and I’m some weird scouse-wool-Lancs-London-American mongrel.

Working from home and the water main has burst two streets down so we've no water at all. I could go to the shop for bottled water to make a brew but I haven't had a wash or brushed my teeth yet and there's no water to do so. Dilemma.
Does the water company not give out free bottled water?

I always keep a bottle in for fridge for times like this

I can recognise others with my accent but can't describe it. I guess it's Essex-lite.

Back to Brum. I've been a few times but never for leisure. I didn't mind it as a place to go out of necessity.

Going back some time now, I like that there was a Prowler next to the station, just in case you need to get an emergency COCK RING.

My Dad once met another Glaswegian in England who was able identify his accent as specifically being from Rutherglen.
As a Ruglonian myself, that's quietly fascinating. My accent was softened by school and uni tho'.

If it's going to be off for a while they have a giant tanker full of water that they attach to the mains pipe around the burst section and it keeps the water going to the houses, that's what they usually do. I suppose it depends whether the giant tanker is available.

I've just tried the utility room tap and some sputtery water came out but it's brown so hopefully it's nearly repaired. Then it's a case of running all the cold taps slowly until it's clear again.

I remember our water went off for about 7 hours and I genuinely hadn't realised how much I relied on water until then. I mean, obviously I know we need water, but little things you take for granted were a surprise. Hope it's back on soon!

What do you sound like thread NOW.

(Cue sixty pages of argument and three people leaving over the pronunciation of BATH.)
I swear we did something like this with a particular word years ago :D

Mr F forgot the water was off and he flushed the toilet ... since that moment all that can be heard upstairs is the cistern gurgling and trying to suck in water that isn't there.

Am I supposed to know who OUR SON is? :shy:

SFISTICATED

Oh that's definitely a north Liverpool accent - so Walton would make more sense. If she's from THE SKEM then she's really put it on for the cameras, which wouldn't surprise me!

Poor Floppet trying to give us her plumbing updates and she's being drowned out by HOT ACCENT CHAT

STAY SAFE FLOPPET!

Dear departed Beverley told me that she struggles with my accent just yesterday :(

I don't think mine is strong at all
I didn't I have much trouble with the Scottish accent when I'm spoken to. It's a different matter though when it's someone talking in the background.

Bless my sister Sheikha Bev 🙏

It may be on the outskirts of Birmingham, but look how pretty our hotel is 😍
