Sunday eats sausage sandwiches in bed

I remember the days when I could sleep till 11am on Sundays. Now I struggle to get past 7am :o

Iguana was OUT OUT last night and good for her etc. but I always sleep awful when I'm alone and I don't know when he's due to come bounding through the door. With the clock change I swear I saw two lots of 1:30 on the clock as well which threw me off (but can't be sure as I was in a half-asleep state), so I'm generally a bit DISJOINTED this morning. I also can't stop eating but don't think that's related. Send sausage sandwich.

Morning.

I went to a coffee shop cause I was up so early and it is ridiculously busy. I thought it would be quiet and relaxing on a Sunday morning.

Still, nice to people watch.

I'm making a vegan sausage casserole while Mandy's at work. Such a good house lesbian.

Morning. I need to go food shopping but just remembered I bought 12 eggs last month with the intention of making omelettes but I just forgot about them. They officially expire today and that’s far too many for omelettes. Shall I just hard boil them all?

See if they sink, if they do, they're still good, I reckon you can get a couple more days out of them.

Had a great day yesterday, got quite drunk though and don't remember eating ms rons tiramisu

Fortunately she made loads so I'm having it for breakfast.

I entirely forgot the clocks have gone back. Not looking forward to 5pm darkness.

Eggs are good for weeks after their expiry date. Like Rachey said, if they sink they're still good.

I got the clock change the wrong way round when I woke up, my alarm said it was 8.09am, I mistakenly thought that meant 9.09am, arrived downstairs at 7.11am.

Mandy is someone who will take every BBD literally. If a bottle of sauce says use within 3 weeks, she won't touch it if it's been open 3 weeks and a day. Whereas I just sniff and look.

Many times I've cooked her food that's a few days past it's use by and she's not died. But I've also never told her.

It’s nonsense. Food doesn’t just decide it’s off when it hits midnight. I get so annoyed at people who just waste shit like that.

I stop eating stuff BEFORE the due date. Food poisoning is not fun. Though I also use the sniff test to decide whether to eat something or not.

Its a best before date not a poisonous after date

The only thing I used to not eat after it's BBD was meat. But I rarely have meat at home now anyway.

Vegan sausage casserole is on, first time using the slow cooker this year. Excitement is building.

Why do eggs have a sell by date of a week before their expiry? I’ve never understood that…

Heinz state on the bottles that their ketchup and salad cream should be refrigerated and used within 8 weeks after opening. I have never refrigerated either and just carry on using them for the next six months or until they run out, whichever is sooner. It's a con to make you buy more often.

Mr F would throw food out on the day the packet says.

I'm currently finishing off a box of three years out of date herbal tea bags. They are fine.

Oh I do refrigerate mine, but yes will happily use them for months. I had to throw a mayo bottle away last week that has separated and looked disgusting 🤢

Mandy is exactly the same as Mr F!
