Have been working most of the day so far as I have a wild couple of weeks coming up, so getting a load of shit out the way while the house is quiet and I can.

Bored of that now though.

Is there any better feeling than drinking a lot and waking up not hungover and being productive?

It's like a glitch in the matrix :D

Been for a belated anniversary carvery, I won't be having any tea. I was delighted to discover they had honey-roast parsnips so I didn't have to have any potatoes. Also brought a takeaway Cakeaway home to eat in bed later.

The best period is between June and September but March is still ok. Bali has decent weather pretty much all year, except maybe December and January.
Thank you! I read march is the end of the wet season so wasn't sure if it would still be a lot of rain.

I'm going to presume Mandy has a comfortable background.
Couldn't be more wrong I'm afraid. She's from a very poor family, and she works 3 jobs to get enough money for our holidays.

The only reason we can afford them is because our mortgage is £300 a month, and we don't really spend much on eating or drinking out.

I went in September and it still rained. You will get rain regardless. It just doesn’t usually rain all day.

If my mortgage was £300 a month I'd be in Bali too :o

Exactly. Everyone assumes we're loaded. We're not, we just have a ridiculously small mortgage and no dependants.

If Mandy and I go on a holiday that costs £1000 each, that's £4000 for a couple with 2 older kids.

Totally! I'm looking at a week for next summer and I'm struggling to get change for 5k. Which is ridiculous. That's why we've only had one overseas family holiday.

Yeah I feel for you, and all parents. Plus you have to go in school holidays which is way more expensive. Mandy and I can go in much cheaper times.

Anyway you do you Rachey. I've learnt that people look at the end product and make assumptions, not realising the journey you've been on to get there.

Thank you ❤️ and yes I agree ! It annoys me that people, in real life not just Moopy, assume we're ridiculously rich and the fudge shop is making millions.

The reality couldn't be further from the truth. We just choose what we spend our money on wisely.

I posted a picture of my garden in our work group chat as I got some vouchers and had spent them on a new lawn mower. Anyway later on I heard comments about how I must be loaded as I lived in a mansion - although how you can tell that by looking at some grass I don't know... I felt like telling them there's a reason I'm eating a home made peanut butter sandwich every day while they have £15 lunches

Yes, this! I completely sympathise. People forget how much a coffee a day from the local cafe costs, or how a meal deal a day adds up, or a drink after work turns into 3, a takeaway a week etc.

I don't care what people spend their money on, eat out every night, drink 5 nights a week, go to concerts every month, but don't judge others for how they spend their money and make assumptions based on what you think you know.

I'm assuming your garden looks lovely and they're envious ❤️

If you take the kids out of school for less than five consecutive days you dont get fined 👀

I'm not a huge fan of Caffè Nero, but their amaretto mince pies really are the FESTIVE TITS :santa:

But then anywhere is better than Costa
I don't mind a Costa. But we don't have many chain coffee shops on the island, it's mostly independent. And a lot use a local island coffee and it's not strong enough.

It's not the coffee particularly I hate. It's the decor.

Costa do a Terry's Chocolate Orange Hot Chocolate during Christmas that I need to actively stop myself getting every day. It's addictive

Is Knoops national? Definitely my hot chocolate cafe of choice.

We've got one here not that I've been in
If you fancy an overpriced beverage and pretending you can tell the difference between a 72% single origin Peru and a 73% single origin Philippines, I do recommend it.

Just went to the dessert place as a treat, ordered some kind of oreo waffle and regretted it after about 2 bites.
