I'm seeing Oliver! in a few weeks. First London show since March so I'm quite excited.
 
Although Mr Ag has successfully managed to fuck up the booking of both the hotel and the train tickets.
 
Seeing Inside No.9 Stage Fright on Friday and I'm so excited! Know nothing about it but have only heard good things.

Saw All my Sons with Bryan Cranston last night. He’s as good as you expect and embodies the role well despite the casting feeling a touch META. Tom-Glynn Carney the absolute star of the show though, with a performance in the second act that I can only describe as ELECTRIFYING. Ticket was a gift, not sure I’d pay the eye-watering prices, and still not sure how such a violent critique of capitalism lands in such a BOURGEOIS SETTING. Some distractingly CHEAP costumes for such a blockbuster show, at one point a character comes out in a fancy dress that’s meant to cost 3 weeks wages and it’s an absolute MESS.

Yeah, I saw it for £10 with Sally Field and Bill Pullman in 2019, so bringing it back so soon with ridiculous prices, when The Old Vic version was completely reasonable is a bit ridiculous. Would love to see Bryan Cranston in something one day though.

Just booked yesterday for the new version of One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest for next year. I have no idea what to expect as it looks like it’s a black version with possibly a male Nurse Ratched (???). I still have great memories of seeing it with Christian Slater and Alex Kingston.
 
I went to see Just For One Day last night and they got through the FIRST SONG ("Heroes" by David Bowie) before someone from production came on stage to say they had to take a pause due to technical difficulties :D Everyone had a moment of wondering whether it was part of the show, but the lights came back up and I'd estimate it took about 10 minutes before it resumed. Then towards the end there's a bit where a technical issue at Live Aid IS part of the show and we all initially thought something had gone wrong again.

My highlight was Maggie Thatcher singing "I'm Still Standing", what a concept. A really enjoyable show and perfect for this time of year given Band Aid is a big part of Act 1. And only £18 for a seat at the back of the stalls, the least I've paid for a show this year.

@Ellie I've achieved gold status on TodayTix and barely made a dent in my £120 max savings for this year. There are already a few things I'd like to book for 2026, if I book them before the new year, do you know if my 10% discounts would count towards my savings for this year, or would they start counting towards next years limit?

I don’t really know. This was the first year I’ve maxed mine out (mostly due to one big group booking I made) and I never previously checked, so looking forward to getting it back in January. If you book something before the end of the year, see if the balance resets in January.

Got a decent Gold Member sale access for Kinky Boots yesterday, which was much better than the Black Friday deals on other sites.

The show was great too, but I was helped by my other half explaining the Greek myth during the interval, so I was able to follow along with the second half easier and think I would enjoy the whole thing more on a second viewing. One I'd recommend for sure.

Saw Hadestown recently, starring Nicola Roberts.

Now I know she’s just starting out, and I know she’s an incredible vocalist but
my goodness perhaps the worst west end acting performance I’ve ever seen :D It was real proof that acting isn’t just what you say, but also the nuances of what you do

Bloody hell what a treat. Cast, set, the visual effects, all 10/10. Nice script update too. Nancy and Fagan were excellent.
 
Went to the first preview of Into The Woods last night, which was originally supposed to be the second preview. I’m not a massive Sondheim fan and remember the film being perfectly OK but not spectacular. But I really enjoyed this and would easily see it again. Really well staged, and the woods themselves aren’t revealed until the end of the lengthy opening prologue. Everyone was excellent, particularly the Cinderella and the very funny two Princes.
 
I just watched Jane Ayre The Musical and was rather impressed. Went in with low expectations, but was wonderfully performed and suitable in tone.
 
I've been obsessed with Evita since I was a child, but I really, really don't like the way they sing this, especially Diego. There have been some wonderful cast recordings over the decades, but this one isn't for me at all.
