Strictly 2025

I also thought bigger names did the Christmas special (and I'm not that old :D)
Mel Giedroyc did a few (2-3) years ago  Then again most of the British public would know of Scarlett Moffatt haha, she's nice.

For last year's I didn't know Tayce, but glad she won. 😊 I first knew of Vogue Williams from the Fairy laundry pods adverts :D
I know Babatunde because of this haha, and him being scared of the music video for Orinoco Flow ⛵
Oh and Enya was mentioned on a Channel 4 programme the other day:
(Not Babatunde or the alpaca haha)

Oh.

There was a comment from him on ITT along the lines of "I hear that Scarlett is an amazing dancer... or shouldn't I say that?"

I'd rather watch a Moffatt ten dance exhibition than our Bri.

Sorry way behind but the Steps performance was pretty great. I don't consider Last Thing On My Mind to be a cover considering the Bananarama version sound like a good demo. The Steps version was probably their best song for me.

She's coming out so well from the series; very likeable. I'd wager she (alongside Lewis and George) being the ones to enjoy career bumps after this.

It should be utterly astonishing when you hear of the kind of abuse she was getting, but you only need to browse football twitter for 2 minutes to realise it's the norm to be UNHINGED. I can only imagine how much worse the vitriol was given it was a MEER WOMAN daring to comment on men's sacred cows.

I do think that if Karen makes the final she might take the win.

However, George seems to have a massive fanbase so I wouldn't rule him out winning if he makes the final.

I'm not wholly sure George makes the final.

The Insta-Dance doubling the voting weight of the judges means he can't so easily be carried on fanbase votes, and I do think he'll struggle more than most with the spontaneity.

And I also suspect he's the one they'll gun for the second he lands in a dance-off. He's not the best dancer and he's already ruled out of the Strictly live tour next year, but poses far more risk of stealing a victory than poor old Bal.

Karen feels a safer bet at this point.

Exactly what I was thinking, plus George seems a bit un-spontaneous. 😅
As for Karen Carney to win, I completely agree, thought so at least 2 weeks ago

:-)

Haha I imagine more for if she wins, but I liked that discussion about the Paso Doble and Carlos getting all the attention :D

La Voix and Harry first celebs announced for the tour.

La Voix also announced as playing Miss Hannigan in Annie for a few months next year. Although only the start of the tour. Her run ends in July, I think, and the tour continues. Which could mean she is in line for a role on Strictly next year as commitments to that will be starting in the summer.

LOVE to see La Voix thrive :disco:

I expect after July she's needed to take over Martin Roberts' existing commitments, once he is announced for Strictly 2026

I am quite intrigued as to exactly how this instant dance is going down. I wonder just how many of their previous dance styles really are potentials, or if there is a limited pot or whether the specialty dances are excluded.

The dances selected are going to make quite a difference I think. I'm slightly dubious as to how much extra power this invention really gives the judges - I think they are just as likely to end up creating an extra tie on the leaderboard and weakening scores as it going the other way.

I'm expecting Karen's CC to go down very well tonight, even if a Strictly street dance is not usually my favourite. I think she stands a fair chance of topping the leaderboard tonight after the main dances. Lewis looked good doing the Rumba in the clips they've shown, but it is still a Rumba. I guess it depends how Amber nails the Jive.

I bet there were some nervous people behind the scenes during that lengthy speech from Alex. I thought she was going to say 'don't vote for us!' at one point.

That was a bit heartbreaking from Alex. I'd love River Song in the final but this week and last week have felt like she's running out of road.

That was the first time I woke up properly tonight. HELLO Julian

Should have worn white pants with that costume, but I guess they're his famous lucky ones.

Poor Alex quickly losing all her "oh she messed up" sympathy votes thanks to every other fucker following her doing the same

I've been on the Julian train since day one. I like his quirkiness.

Karen was excellent.

Shirley's comment that she didn't dance before - I thought she did street dance when she was younger.

Alex's post-dance interview with Claudia felt a bit "I'M DONE" and she's rather resigned or even ready to exit, which is a shame.

George being hard on himself and calling out his fuck ups is in-character. It seemed FINE to me even if George is still a little stiff, but the routine itself just didn't lend itself for showy MOMENTS.

I know fook all about dance because I was CONVINCED Lewis was on course for another 40 there.

Very impressive from Amber (and in a disintegrating costume). I wasn't convinced that Craig would go for the 10 though.
