"Captures" says the BBC. "Kidnaps", right? Mind you, say the word "kid" to Donald Trump and he'll be unable to control himself.
 
Well he tested the water with Canada and Greenland and it didn’t go down too well so I suppose he thought he’d have better luck invading a country not in NATO. Little boy so desperately wants to add imperialism to his legacy. Can’t kick the bucket without an unsolicited regime change under his belt! That would be very UNAMERICAN
 
Forcing regime change in Central and South America is hardly new for the United States. Venezuela is just another country to add to the list.

Hard to know these days what is conspiracy theory and what is genuine but Venezuelan opposition say this was mutually planned between the US and Maduro as an exit strategy

 
I was literally chatting to Mr Ag on NYE, how 2025 was just a warm up act. His response was not to be so cynical and depressing. I said I'm not sad, I just read history and absorb the news. I'm not really surprised by any of this (add the stuff in the China thread). I kinda wish I didn't have any insight or awareness.

in 1900, powerful countries did what they wanted and less powerful countries couldn’t. In 2025, it’s exactly the same. How was international law changed anything? I mean this for real.

It hasn’t changed an iota for powerful countries. But it has been used to impose embargoes and sanctions on a whole lot of weaker countries.

Powerful countries would impose those embargoes and sanctions either way if they wanted to, wouldn’t they?
 
At least international law now means that powerful countries sometimes pretend to have an actual reason for shitting on less powerful countries, rather than the standard ‘because we can’ excuse that they used to use.

My point is that international law is very real with very real consequences for weaker countries.

It did seem to be all to easy to capture him
 
He's slurring and stumbling through a speech about this right now. He claims it's the most impressive military assault since WORLD WAR 2.

Also that they switched off the lights in Venezuela because that's one of the special things America can do.
 
They weren't PUMPING ENOUGH so he's going in and fixing the oil infrastructure. He's prepared to do another ATTACK WAVE, but he might not.

Brilliant stuff.
 
I genuinely feel sick to my stomach that this has happened. It’s outrageous that nothing is done to stop him by ANYONE.

China might show him that if America can, they can. That will certainly distract him.
 
I'm sure the occupation of Venezuela will be a perfect operation and every Venezuelan will love him and every country will respect and love America.
 
Well, they can't bring their own president to justice so they may as well have a go at someone else's.
