There's also the fact that this is what Labour used to be about before it got infected with Oxbridge thinktankers*. She's a 34 year olf plumber who stood because she believes in something. It really is marvellous news, not least because it will give the Labour Party reason to pause and realise why they've really been syphoning votes.

Aside from that, as someone who joined the Green Party many years ago, based on the fact that my Sixth Form history teacher and former Moopy sparring partner became a local Green councillor, and had the pleasure of helping to vote in Caroline Lucas in at Brighton Pavilion in 2010, this feels like a lovely moment of recognition.
