Enya's sister Máire Philomena Ní Bhraonáin; she passed away late yesterday, age 73.

She was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis 10 years ago, so survived that for quite a long time, but still a shock to learn of (at barely 7 in the morning)

Moya Brennan, best known as the lead singer of the Grammy and BAFTA-winning group Clannad, died peacefully yesterday, surrounded by her family, at the age of 73.

Haha no not just me, there are lots of Clannad lovers with tributes too.

Also I realised it was the For You haha, and it's probably local area for Google, not that I know of any Clannad fans nearby (but there must be since the band performed at a local theatre in late 2021).

Apparently the fortnightly Clubeo event (young musicians at Leo's Tavern) that Moya hosted was done by her daughter Aisling for the most recent one; Moya probably got ill sometime in the last couple of weeks.

Not sure the extent of a feud, but I imagine they weren't really on good terms when Eithne left to live with Nicky and Roma. In recent years they seemed to be seen together, somewhat closer.

Her birth name is Máire (and she did that thing like Eithne being Enya, but later) and I think she legally changed her first name to Moya at some point.

Yeah it’s saying Moyà Brennan passed and that she sang with Clannad.
