Enya's sister 💔 Máire Philomena Ní Bhraonáin; she passed away late yesterday, age 73. :( 💭

She was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis 10 years ago, so survived that for quite a long time, but still a shock to learn of (at barely 7 in the morning)

ACTUALLY, I also did meet her, briefly, as a result. She seemed quite lovely, though it was little more than a hello.
 
And I think that meeting was at a venue in Winchester and it was a few minutes after we'd HAD IT RIGHT OFF in a disabled toilet and blatantly been caught coming out together by a lighting man.

FUNNY all the memories a DEATH brings about.

Haha no not just me, there are lots of Clannad lovers with tributes too.

Also I realised it was the For You haha, and it's probably local area for Google, not that I know of any Clannad fans nearby (but there must be since the band performed at a local theatre in late 2021).

Apparently the fortnightly Clubeo event (young musicians at Leo's Tavern) that Moya hosted was done by her daughter Aisling for the most recent one; Moya probably got ill sometime in the last couple of weeks. 💭
 
Did her and AUL ENYA have a feud at some point?

No insider information...just that I vaguely recall talk of it.
 
Not sure the extent of a feud, but I imagine they weren't really on good terms when Eithne left to live with Nicky and Roma. In recent years they seemed to be seen together, somewhat closer. 💗
 
And whenever this cheeky interview was (late 2000s) they didn't seem that close. 😅

Her birth name is Máire (and she did that thing like Eithne being Enya, but later) and I think she legally changed her first name to Moya at some point.
