The very obviously fake piano playing section of the performance didn't quite click for me - anyone who knows her background knows she's a pianist but the average voter won't. But I guess they have to include it to justify her then clambering on top of it.

An article in The Guardian about it suggested it was a shame we couldn’t see her playing the piano as the camera cut away and the vibe from the journalist was deffo “everything you see on a Eurovision stage in 2026 is 100% live”

The piano blocked her, apart from anything else. Presumably it was to hide the fact that she wasn't playing, but I think it looked clumsy.

Watching again maybe she shouldn't have gone to the piano until the piano break part when she was shown 'playing', but a minor quibble for me.

Back when I wasn't a fan and may have been one of those that threw the very imaginative 'Dulta' around, but the sheer force of will in that last third especially is just irresistible. My winner.

It’s the commitment to the bit that seals this for me. She could’ve just blasted this out in one place, but the gold piano, the key change, the hair flicks, the ascending podium. She took this to a place camper then someone of this talent usually bothers.
 
And I also meant to say, so thank you to my learned friend, we should not underappreciate the importance of that key change. If she wins…it could start a REVIVAL :disco:
 
Oh the piano bit and the 'HEY!' especially offer up the personality to go with the towering vocals.
 
Not that it's the be-all and end-all, but I do think it'd see some chart action if it won too. I like Finland, but I can't see that doing anything major post-Contest really.
 
Australia winning won’t save the contest and its general moral indifference. But I assume the EBU will be grateful for the narrative shift their win would provide.

Despite of that I think their win would be good for the contest, but purely on quite a cynical PR level.

I’ve only seen the clip above so far for this song and it just sounds like yelling to me. Hopefully I’ll like it more when I hear the whole thing performed in the show later with a bottle of red.
 
I'm just going to concentrate on the hairography and the dress rather than the song.
 
I've never cared for Delta Goodrem at all, but she absolutely demolishes this performance by sheer force of WILL.
The song being limp I don't think matters as much as some think, as she is so clearly telegenic and capable I imagine a lot of her votes will be for her performance as a performer rather than the song.

There's also something quite comfortingly old-school about the whole thing, and it benefits in my opinion by being showy-enough to grab attention but not so overcooked its a mess.

I also didn't know about the PIANO PODIUM section when watching live on Thurs and nearly fell off the sofa laughing, as it's just SO silly and 2008 Melodifestivalen. For some reason I didn't see it coming, and it really endeared me to the whole package.
 
I'm always scared the safety bar (or whatever it is) around her waist malfunctions and she can't be lifted up when it matters - like a no-fly Defying Gravity.

Watching the videos from the audience where some poor stage hand is trying to fasten it in the dark and fluffing it on first attempt gives me anxiety.
 
She's also using this as an audition clearly right ?? She might as well have a sign attached to her chest saying WAKE UP WORLD BOOK ME !

The back of her mind must have a FIRM EYE on becoming the go-to booking where you'd prefer Celine Dion, or at least a West End run of Sunset Boulevard (Nicole Scherzinger remix version). She's been floating around the pop toilet for about 15 years now, she must be SICK OF IT !!

SURE Pina Tina Arena must be gearing up to launch her bid to represent Australia in 2027. There's no way such an evil and vindictive woman will let Delta get away with this.
