Tennis 2026 (4 Viewers)

They really do make a lot of sport difficult for people to access either conveniently or economically these days - no wonder the casual punters are dwindling more and more.

I get TNT Sports automatically for an extra fiver on my Sky package, it replaced BT Sport on it otherwise I don’t think I’d have made the effort either.

Four WTA slam champions eliminated in the first round (Raducanu, Krejickova, Stephens and Kenin). Has that ever happened before?

I used to be able to watch The French Open and The Australian Open on Eurosport but they cancelled the channel a couple of years ago. :(

I can't believe my dreamboat Arthur has withdrawn. :(
After being forced to withdraw from his third round match last year too. I suspect both Fils & Draper will be the 2 constantly injured 'what if' players of this generation.

In brighter news, both Jodar & Mensik had impressive easy wins, & Fran Jones got her first grand slam win with a comeback over Haddad Mia. Hoping young Sara Bejlek gives a good account of herself in the next round vs Swiatek, & I will of course be strongly rooting for short shorts fave Tomas Machac to get the upset over Zverev.

poor Jpeg. the first set she was playing superb tennis, I'm not sure what happened.

elsewhere Medvedev OUT in five sets. Madison Keys wins 6-3 6-0 - potential dark horse if she keeps this up? and Auger-Aliassime just beat Altmaier in a very tight five set thriller.

While I wouldn't be bothered to see Sinner go out, PLEASE don't let this be the opportunity that Zverev gets to win a slam with the top 2 out :(

Oh good grief! I was too excited by the prospect of someone other than Sinner winning I didn’t think it through that other someone could be Zverev :gross:

I like the prospect of Sinner going out, but not if it means Novax or Zverev will end up winning the whole thing!

Shocked by Cerundolo, he's not even the good one! The good one is also looking at a five-setter.

I really don't see Zverev winning this, it'll be someone random like Frances Tiafoe or maybe Kouame.

Zverev must be stopped at all costs! Wouldn't be mad for Novak to break Court's slam record. My fave newer players like Fils and Draper that could win this are out with injury. This really is WIDE OPEN.

Someone like Casper Ruud would be fine with me, or a youngster like Fonseca or Jodar stepping up & surprising us all.

Just PLEASE get Zverev out now, Tomas Machac! I said a few posts above that I suspected he might get his slam against a Verkerk type & it's looking to be coming true :(

Also just read that Sinner was up 6-3 6-2 5-1 before going off court & ultimately losing :oHe must have been really fucked if he couldn't just grind out one more service game.

A very entraining end to that 5 setter with Kouamé, but he's not winning the whole thing.

men I would like to win now

Casper Ruud
Felix Auger Aliassime
Francis Tiafoe

I think Tiafoe will fall by 4th round though. he's not consistent. this is as good an opening as Djokovic will get now. for a long shot maybe Cobolli or the much-threatened breakthrough for Fonseca?

Zverev has already beeezed past Machac in straight sets last night and was looking unfortunately solid - hopefully that forehand will get tighter and tighter as the tournament progresses.

It’s now or never for a lot of them for different reasons. Of the ones who’ve been hanging around for years I’d want Ruud to be the one to sneak in. A bit like Thiem with his US Open win.

Oh, bugger :(

Looking at that side of the draw, only Ruud or Djokovic look like they could take him out, although I'd be absolutely here for young Jodar to do it in the quarter finals.

I’d be quite pleased to see a shock Tsitsipas win, although I’m quite sure it won’t happen. They’ll probably troll us by arranging a Zverev-Djokovic final even though they’re in the same half of the draw.

Tits winning RG after tumbling out of the top 50 would be a great story but I just don't see it :(
Arnaldi just defeated Tits to extinguish that very brief hope of a maiden slam :(

About time some of the youngsters stepped up to elbow the old guard out the way & hopefully challenge Sincaraz.

That's 2 golden chances that Djokovic has had to win slam 25 this year at age 39. Have to wonder if this defeat represents the moment his final opportunity passed. Of course he can still stick around the top 10 if he wants, but like with Serena, the pool of players who can step up & take him out gets bigger with each passing slam.
