Yes, I still listen to Morrissey and he's a dreadful person. I don't listen to his new music, but that's because his awfulness is fully embedded in so much of his work now so that would require separating the ART from the ART. Why can't more white artists be cancelled?

Cancellation doesn’t work in music as far as I can tell. I can’t think of a single big name artist that actually felt let any long term effects of being cancelled.

A white example : Morgan Wallen - “cancelled” yet is one of the biggest artists currently

In the US they don’t care and will support. Big celebs were posting about going to those shows he did recently.

Same with Chris Brown, the cancellation is swift but short. People post with their whole chest that while he beats women they still love him and will go see him live.

Michael Jackson fans have no shame in their support and probably never will.

I also think a lot of people are performative online to show how “woke” they are but don’t always follow through on the real world.
