Fact fans : Serena and Venus used to frequent the same shopping centre regularly in the early Noughties but it has changed a LOT since then.

I'm not sure I'd actually want him to win the entire match and end the Dimi fairytale though.
 
Domitrov has the experience to survive a long game but Fery has shown he has the stamina and the resolve. It’ll be an interesting finish.
 
I don't suppose anyone was watching but Fritz just beat Bublik in straights.

And thank fuck, because I'm not relying on Lehecka being the one to take out Z*er*v

I was watching, on court one. Left at the start of the third when it became clear Bublik was a gonner. Went to watch the Fery match on the hill instead. Fritz was in fine form so here is hoping he will be the saviour we need 🙏

Wild card rather than a qualifier, which is even worse if anything, but it isn’t like he’s thrown away a golden chance of a slam. He’d have started as the underdog against anyone else in the tournament from this point forwards.

But it's also the best chance he is ever likely to get to get to the final.
 
A match involving Ostapenko and Siegemund is always likely to deliver something and their mixed match today did. Ostapenko arguing with the male opponent for a long time after the match and commenting that it was good to see an umpire not scared to warn Siegemund for time wasting as Laura stomped off (Laura got back to back time violations in the tiebreak) - when asked what she’d said she repeated it even louder :)
 
Both Dimitrov and Keys will never have a better chance to be a Wimbledon finalist than this year. Can’t quite believe that one of Paolini (again), Kostyuk, Mertens or Noskova will be walking out there at 2pm on Saturday.

Was expecting more from Keys today. It was such a disappointing match.

Tbf to Kostyuk she's had a great year, a run to the French semis, didnt she win Rome too? Paolini is always a delight to watch, so no issue with that outcome. I expected Eala to come through that match today though. Didn't see any if it as was on court one, but the score line looked close.

I have no time for Mertens or Noskova though, amd neither feels deserving of a slam final (which probably means it will be one of them).
 
I would be so deeply underwhelmed with Noskova or Mertens in a slam final. I can't see Mertens making it but Noskova could.

it's really a shame that tomorrow's QF girlies can't all play the final

Gauff v Pegula (I think Jpeg wins)
Muchova v Osaka (Osaka to win but could be tight)

Jpeg or Gauff v Osaka will make a semi worthy of a slam final. hopefully Paolini goes all the way on the other side of the draw.
 
Spare no tears for Dimitrov gays, he was pretty CRAP

I went into the match thinking, this is nice, either the Brit or the lovely comeback man are going through so EITHER WAY... only for Dimitrov to hand it to him on a platter.

There was some great moments in the match, usually from Fery.

yay engerland, etc

Now just hoping Fery doesn't get an almighty thrashing in the quarters.
 
It's the story of his entire career. He doesn't have what it takes to win a slam. He never did.
