World Cup 2026

On the plus side we all also about to play the THIRD BRONZE WINNER game, cannot wait

It's partly manager, it's partly perennial English attitude. At the end of the day, sitting back for 40 minutes against a team who've made a name for coming from behind was a stupid, stupid thing to do.

I agree entirely with this.

Now got an evening of work and a likely slew of “how good are Argentina”/ “the latest records Messi has broken”/ “England denied again” articles to deal with, so at least be thankful you can all pass out pissed and deal with it in the morning.

Had the pleasure of watching this in Glasgow. When England scored thought oh nice one got a good group of fans around this. Then Argentina scored and honestly Scotland might as well have won the whole tournament

:ToneNervous:
Scotland fans cheering for teams playing against England when they’ve scored one goal all tournament has got more and more sad as it’s gone on.

It seemed like he didn’t trust any of his attackers aside from Kane and Bellingham. Less than ten minutes combined for Watkins and Toney. Five different starting pairs of wingers in seven matches. Repeatedly playing defenders in central midfield ahead of Mainoo. All with Palmer, Foden and Gibbs-White at home. It seems like he picked the wrong squad and had no idea what was his best team.

A world where a manager is sacked after world cup semi-final after a number of matches where he was praised heavily for his tactics is a strange one.

Ultimately, semi-finals is fine. Tuchel was super correct in his diagnosis (and on-field shouting) and we don't play direct enough. Defensive substitutions today were completely wrong, and the fact he waited until the 70th(ish?) Minute to make any changes was poor. But I think he can learn from that and do better next time.

I CERTAINLY hope that funky didn’t return from the beach to find that his car had been burnt out by rampaging Argentinians.

Really the Argentinian football team should be proscribed as a terrorist organisation. They are less defensible than Palestine Action.

As much as I have enjoyed referring to them as the Malvinas the past few days, I find it funnier still that their name comes from a WELSH MONK.

We've even colonised (so-called) anti-colonialism

FIVE OF THE FUCKERS SO FAR!

Talk about salt in the wound.

I wouldn't go this far!

swapping the wingers was typically done to reward a strong performance by a sub in the previous match. that's the point of having a deep squad. also you criticise him for not trusting his forwards or giving them game time, and for giving game time to all his wingers. so which is it?

obviously he didn't trust Mainoo at all. Toney was there for a specific event which never came to pass and I do think Watkins was underused but generally we did so well with Kane and Bellingham we didn't need the other forwards.

Palmer and Foden did nowhere near enough this season to justify being in this squad. Gibbs White did and probably should've been there but even a player as in form as Rogers found himself on the fringes.

Kane and Bellingham had done little in the first half and let's face it...the start of the second half too...he could have taken a punt on Mainoo

he'd be torn apart for subbing Bellingham off early let's be serious.
