He didn't have enough confidence in his attacking players. But then why bring on more defensive substitutions!
Nine defenders and an elderly striker with the reflexes of a wardrobe wasn’t really a recipe for building on the goal, in hindsight. But then why bring on more defensive substitutions!
All this chat is very "If I were Thomas Tuchel, I would simply have had the team score more goals"
We should really just be given the World Cup for this achievement. On the plus side, we're about to equal Uruguay's record for finishing 4th at World Cups
It's partly manager, it's partly perennial English attitude. At the end of the day, sitting back for 40 minutes against a team who've made a name for coming from behind was a stupid, stupid thing to do.
Scotland fans cheering for teams playing against England when they’ve scored one goal all tournament has got more and more sad as it’s gone on.Had the pleasure of watching this in Glasgow. When England scored thought oh nice one got a good group of fans around this. Then Argentina scored and honestly Scotland might as well have won the whole tournament

Now THAT'S how to be a good managerI've banned funky from this thread for a day
O wad some Pow'r the giftie gie usScotland fans cheering for teams playing against England when they’ve scored one goal all tournament has got more and more sad as it’s gone on.
Bans for all of those guys from the final would seem the only option. If they don’t have eleven players, they’ll just have to ask whoever lost to Argentina in the semi final to save their showpiece occasion.
Now got an evening of work and a likely slew of “how good are Argentina”/ “the latest records Messi has broken”/ “England denied again” articles to deal with, so at least be thankful you can all pass out pissed and handle it in the morning.
The one in Spain/Portugal/Morocco? As if the cup's going anywhere beyond one of those three!Only 1,432 days until the next world cup starts.
IT'S COMING HOME!!!!

I wouldn't go this far!It seemed like he didn’t trust any of his attackers aside from Kane and Bellingham. Less than ten minutes combined for Watkins and Toney. Five different starting pairs of wingers in seven matches. Repeatedly playing defenders in central midfield ahead of Mainoo. All with Palmer, Foden and Gibbs-White at home. It seems like he picked the wrong squad and had no idea what was his best team.
While Zen and I are still here! How did funky get banned from in here?![]()

Kane and Bellingham had done little in the first half and let's face it...the start of the second half too...he could have taken a punt on MainooI wouldn't go this far!
swapping the wingers was typically done to reward a strong performance by a sub in the previous match. that's the point of having a deep squad. also you criticise him for not trusting his forwards or giving them game time, and for giving game time to all his wingers. so which is it?
