Gianni Infantino is corrupt - a thread.

he's massively overplayed his hand. although maybe this is the plan - go tits out in a blaze of dishonour, lose his extremely well paid job, which until just last week looked high secure, and completely destroy his reputation. it'll all be fine because he's friends with Trump and that will certainly continue once Gianni's out of the game and his transactional value is zero :)
 
Not to biggup the orange overlord but why would he remain friends with someone whose "transactional value is zero"?
 
AFC have announced their opposition, although notably have not binded their members to vote in one way or another. Asian football obviously stretches quite a wide net of riches so you could see some still look to accept the bribe.

There must be some in FIFA who do support this if he’s able to double down and put out a statement.

Australia saying “we need more facts” is very “let’s not be hasty, there could be money involved”…

I can’t see him getting enough votes at this point, but to double down like this suggests he’s either very unhinged or very protected in ways we can’t yet understand. The way the world is these days, it wouldn’t surprise me.
 
I am very sure that Australia only have the welfare of the Ugandan and Samoan associations at heart :)
 
To quash this, they really need to focus the argument more strongly on the point around FIFA's existing reserves.

The leading emotional argument of "football isn't for sale" won't wash with the associations badly in need of funding. And it's ridiculous anyway; football is grossly capitalist already. UEFA trying to portray international football as some sort of charitable endeavor is as convincing as Hannah Ingram-Moore.

But what should wash with those poorer assiciations is why they can't get those $millions today if FIFA are already swimming in gold.
 
Football Australia have been losing millions year-on-year and recently made 20% of their staff redundant. Not entirely surprising they are interested in a FIFA pay out.

He’d never resign willingly. They’re going to have organise a coup and I don’t know the rules of how they elect FIFA officials to know what is and isn’t possible. But based on his actions over over the last six months, he’s acting very much like someone who loves the power and has no intention of letting it go.

He also has some very evil people in his ear and that is probably contributing to his behaviour

Fook knows here. He'd have to be forced out and three of the six major associations have yet to speak against him. The Asian nations could still vote independently of their association. Trump could well intervene on his pal's behalf. He might confidently call UEFA bluff - would they stay united if they really did need to follow through with their threats to withdraw?
 
No word from CONMEBOL? They might see the potential of a World Cup without Europe as a major opportunity :eyes:
 
Nah he intends to run again in 2027. That's why he dropped it so quickly. Whether it's now or at the next FIFA Congress, I'm looking forward to his humiliating boot.

The question is who replaces him.

I check the comments every time there’s a post. There’s never a single person supporting him. The football world has never been so united
