Also, the bit where she discovers her dead boyfriend’s music and her lyrics fit together perfectly and she debuts her new song in the middle of a massive gig…where the crowd then seem to magically know the song already :disco: :D

I saw it with my younger sister who was around 12 at the time and even she was howling at that bit 😂

I hope she’s back for Avengers : Doomsday

Her Strength stat is at 0, but her Charisma points are MAXED OUT :disco:

Mariah team using stolen fan art for merch (and it’s not even the right era)

Butterfinger my tangerines

She looked incredible in the Loverboy video. It's pre-9/11 2001 in the very best way.

Watching it back, Loverboy really was ahead of its time. 2001 wasn't ready for the heavy rhythmic, low melody, very noisy sound that Beyoncé would lean into between B'Day and Run The World.

I’ve already heard Lead The Way is gonna be the focus track of the rerelease… is she making it a duet?!

Loverboy is kinda ahead of its time and fun in the regard that it's a very apparent and positive output of someone in the swing of a very manic bipolar episode

I did read something about Prince not clearing a sample for a track that was supposed to be recorded for Glitter. Or is that an old story?

I have never seen Glitter. Pretty sure I got given it on DVD at the time and never took the wrapper off - should I correct this misstep or is it only really any good now as an exercise in nostalgia?

I'm loving the original today. I think with the released version ready to unleash soon after, she should have held her nerve and pushed forward with it. The Cameo sample makes it far more accessible and the sheer vapidity gets cranked up to insane levels of manic, but it's actually really exciting (to me) hearing Loverboy in a much more daring form - and the studio-stoned vocal formation sounds even more supreme in this setting.
