Yeah the series has finally hit it's stride.

Sophie by far the highlight, although Joanne and Nick are both decent.
 
Nice to see Joanne win. She's very QUICK isn't she?

Enjoyed Steve finally getting into it, even if it was at the expense of his mortality. It's been a slow grower of a series, but beginning to really pay off.
 
She's brilliant fun. I had seen Alma's Not Normal with her and the omnipresent Siobhan Finneran, but that was quite a while ago now, so she's been a real treat.

Really enjoying Joanne as well. I'm not sure they've ever has anyone like her on the show before. Very quick, with some surprising references.

Nick has some wonderful asides to boot.

It's quite a warm series. No Londonners or Scots :D
 
Anyone who enjoys Joanne should check out her podcast where she delves into the conspiracy theory that Avril Lavigne died and was replaced, it’s good fun (and quite compelling in places :D). Also agog that she’s 41!
 
Oh is she behind the Avril Lavinge podcast? I may give it a go.

I know she's on My Therapist Ghosted Me, but it feels quite an ask to access it, this late in the ganr.

Ms Ron has been listening to her podcast on the back of taskmaster and says its brilliant
 
John Robins’ score was the highest of all time! By a fairly large margin too (8 points). Only know of Rosie Jones and Jack Dee from the next series (I think - often I realise I’ve seen them in something)
 
Babatunde was on I'm A Celeb. Emma Sidl I think I recognise from somewhere. The other guy looks interesting, no idea.
 
Andy Zaltzman is big on Radio 4. He's presented The News Quiz for a few years now. I stopped listening when he started he presenting it.

I imagine Facebook and twitter will be a cesspit now with people claiming Rosie Jones just isn't funny.

She's funny, but by the very nature of her disability, her delivery is slow, which might be tricky on a fairly fast paced show.

She's very funny on Twitter where she can avoid that hurdle.

Sadly there's some horribly toxic stuff on Twitter in response to the announcement.

It’s very telling how they all say “she’s not funny” instead of “I don’t find her funny”. Your opinion is not FACT, SHITHEADS.
 
I love Andy Zaltzman but then I was listening to The Bugle before he did The News Quiz. I know some don't like his style but as someone who loves a good pun and adores a bad one, he's pretty much my guy.

Rosie Jones is indeed getting the usual horseshit over on Elon's Cesspit. Imagine taking that level of umbrage at having to adjust your sense of pace slightly. The Venn diagram of people who complain about Rosie Jones and people who shout English at Spanish people while in Spain, expecting this to act as translation is definitely a circle.
 
I very belatedly started watching this from the beginning on Netflix. Currently midway through season 3. It's a very easy background watch while I'm doing other things.

Season One was obviously a bit of a trial run. Tim Key was good fun, I read that he went on to work behind the scenes for the show a lot, which tracks. Frank Skinner being permanently bemused, Roisin Conaty not even slightly being arsed about anything and the constant bullying of Josh Widdicombe were also fun.

Season Two - Loved Katherine Ryan having never really gotten on board with her as a standup/talking head beforehand. Richard Osman really a revelation though - I imagine his constant thinking around the exact interpretation of the tasks must have influenced a lot of gameplay in subsequent seasons.

Season Three - I always found the Al Murray persona intolerable, (admittedly fully aware that's kind of the point of him) but on this he's surprisingly likeable. Paul Chowdhry the deadpan highlight so far though. He's crap at the tasks, but his reactions totally make up for it.
 
I must admit the last series is the first series I haven't fully watched. I'm not a fan of Steve Pemberton and the others I've not been enamoured with. I will plough through it eventually.

But

Holy crap. ZALTZ! JACK DEE! ROSIE JONES! I'm in.
 
I don't know Andy Zaltzman at all from radio 4, but as the cricket statistician on TMS I love him. A funny man with a love for statistics? Brilliant.

Yeah he's always in the end credits as "Task Consultant". He and Alex Horne (and Mark Watson, who is in series 5) have been friends since university - IIRC Alex & Mark were in Footlights and Tim managed to wangle his way in too despite not being a Cambridge student. I read that Tim's contributions to TM basically consist of going to the pub with Alex and coming up with mad ideas together while a bit pissed. :D
 
Mark Watson doing you know what, was one of many highlights of what is no doubt one of the best ever series. That whole series is an absolute treat.
