All inclusive Madonna CHART STATS, CERTS & STREAMS thread (1 Viewer)

Hung Up now double platinum (1.2 million) - based on various geek estimates, it's shifting about 100k per year atm.

Whatever 100k means in an arbitrary world that counts streams and YouTube views, but not internet forum posts, leotard sales, or camp rubbish gai cries of "YAS QUEEN".

Live To Tell is going viral thanks to a nostalgia TikTok trend or something

Any update on the Sharts?

Their certifications don't factor in sales pre-1994 apparantly, so that's mostly on streams / downloads alone, and you'd presume in reality it's actually a million seller

So apparently Taylor swift is expected to surpass her soon as best selling female artist of all time..

I'll console myself with the thoughts of my 30+ variants of Like A Prayer which didn’t need to go to landfill.

Which is incomparable anyway, cause it's not all sales.

But I was thinking yesterday how there probably is an argument for her now being considered the biggest female artist of all time.

I think in the USA and Europe definitely yes.. I’m just not aware of how big she is worldwide … South America, Asia, Africa etc. But that’s probably just my own ignorance.

Actually didn’t some fans faint and like the streets in Argentina during the Eras Tour. Anyway, life is a circle as Esther one said.

I hope they divert streams back to The Immaculate Collection now.

She's coming for the ABBA crown @lolly @Halli

She must beat ABBA!

Annieways at her peak she was 48M in 2024.

So hopefully she will reach 50M when Confessions Part 2 reaches number 1 in 38 countries BAWHAHAHA!!!!!!

I think theirs will drop when the new year high falls out of the stats. They were just under 40m for a while before that. Hopefully hers will build over the next few months.

I hope so
I know everyone likes to piss on her streaming numbers but I actually think they're not too bad. She was late to the game but it has picked up quite nicely over the years.

The Sidekick "Frozen" remix really is holding up surprisingly well almost five years on. I honestly would have thought that died a quick death.

Beautiful Stranger remains the biggest anamoly. I know it did scant business in the USA, but it was massive in Europe? 36m is poor of a song of that stature.

Gen Z loves Medonner
Boomers hated / loved her
Gen X loved / hated her
Millennials ignored her

Possibly as it isn’t on a studio album might harm it a bit? It only made #19 in the US, but that without a physical release so would’ve been an easy top 3/5 with a commercial single banged out at the time.

I guess it’s not one you really hear in ‘the wild’ these days.
