Boyzone: No Matter What (Sky Documentary) (1 Viewer)

I have a massive issue with people forcing their religious beliefs and practices on others.

I meant the general negativity in this thread. From what I can see, most of the fans enjoyed the gigs!

And I’m pleased for them if that’s the case :)

I mean…

Does it have high production values?
Is Keith a good singer?
Is subjecting people to a prayer a normal thing to do?

I know you’re a fan Star and I don’t mean to piss you off but I would say I’m pointing out the obvious.

I generally cringe at any references to "god" by celebrities so I can only imagine how I'd feel if I was led through a prayer like that.

Oscar acceptance speeches are terrible for that. I’m looking at you, Matthew McConnaughey.
It generally always tends to involve Americans I find. The Williams sisters were notorious for it in their winning speeches .....but they are well known Jehovah's witnesses so I suppose you know what you're going to get.

Are Kian and Nicky from Westlife in the Keith Duffy league? They’ve had to step up too in recent times, now that Wrstlife are down to three members.

Kian definitely is, and Nicky isn’t much better. I believe they both mostly lip sync at Westlife shows, which Shane did for these gigs. Credit to Keith for not doing that I suppose :eyes:

Like God has nothing better to do than orchestrate a Best Actor win or a tennis championship for these people. Ego.

I don't know enough about them *shudder* but I thought it was widely accepted that Kian DOESN'T sing.

I'm not disagreeing with any of the above. But coming into this thread it just feels like you've made several posts in a row to sway people's opinions on the gig. How about the other side where people have made posts about how much the gig meant to them? How it was nice to see Mikey is doing 'OK', even if that meant he was only on stage for a short time. They were from an era where bands were never made of being the best singers or dancers, but they were just there to make people happy! I think shows like this are for the fans really.

It would have been a SOLO Ronan Keating concert if that had happened.

I think this is a fair point, well made.

Don’t worry about me swaying any opinions Star, I’m hardly a MOOPY TASTEMAKER 🤭

Loving @Star storming in here and teaching the girls what the straights have had to put up with our years of screaming and crying at even the most mediocre efforts by our divas of choice

OMG :D Say what you will about Louis (and he is clearly a terrible person) but he is utterly compelling viewing. Someone pitch his life story to Ryan Murphy (on the condition that Louis can play himself).

he doesn’t sound too dissimilar from Toby Young and the film they made about him with Simon Pegg.

“HE’S OVER”

That would be something worth saying if it wasn’t 2026. Did anyone think he’s not?

I can't believe I'm defending Ronan Keating, but while as a chart force he is very clearly long since spent, I'd say he's in a pretty good position to tour and release music for the rest of his life if he so wishes. Many would dream of being 'over' to that extent.

Screaming at "I don't want to be a karaoke artist anymore"//"But that's what he is!!!" and "George Michael FANCIED STEPHEN!!!":D

To this day I’m still fascinated by how someone so utterly useless and clueless had career in music for so long, and someone so socially awkward and inarticulate had a career in TV for so long

I mean, the clip above demonstrates why he was on TV for so long - he is a troll and that makes for amazing content

His chart success is also pretty justified - he clearly takes an utterly cynical view regarding his "talent" and goes for the lowest-hanging-fruit, ie. pretty boys doing "karaoke"

That he somehow pulled off the masterpiece that was Samantha Mumba's debut era singles run shows that he knew how to choose bops when he actually put his mind to it

I always thought it was the job of the a&r to get songs. I wouldn't think Walsh had much to do with the Samantha Mumba album. Like when he he managed Girls Aloud....I think he only had time for his boybands.

Fair one
