This is a bit misleading - the big uplifts from Little Simz and Dave are coming from small bases

Sheeran, Adele and Sam Fender are getting the biggest lift overall from The Brits.

To be honest I was underwhelmed if anything by the figures quoted for Little Simz and Dave (to a lesser extent because he's better known already). The number of people listening last week must have been relatively so small that any uplift is bound to cause a HUGE % increase. As you say, Sheeran, Adele and Fender will benefit more in total, even if the % looks relatively modest.

It's a bit like when Music Week post stories about cassette sales increasing 200% year on year, when statistically they remain pretty much irrelevant.

Overnight viewing figures were significantly down on last year, so I guess the uplift will be less anyway

I Drink Wine was at #91 with 74k streams yesterday. If that % uplift in ManicKangaroo's article held for the day (and assuming streaming levels were the same), she'd go up to about #18.

She went up to #37 and now down to #42.

Little Simz (re?)entered at #132 only to fall out the next day.

Little Simz did climb to #6 on the iTunes album chart but is already back down to #35. That's largely due to new release Friday, but she's clearly falling hard regardless.

Not sure how big it used to be, but this was the lowest audience in the overnights ever - less than three million. Obviously how people view has changed, and I imagine a lot of the performances will garner hefty YouTube views, but I don't think there's any denying that they just aren't event TV any more.

Event TV is undoubtedly a shadow of what it used to be, but I'm sure The Brits used to get higher audiences than Eurovision. Now it's less than half of that. And less than a 20% audience share, which is poor by any standard for ITV.
