Why is everyone using the phrase "curate's egg" this month, is it a challenge?!

As a GERU fan, it's never off my mind. I wasn't aware it was being overused though my dear. I've used it plenty of times on my own accord thank you very much.

This is good, only let down by more of the samey production of her crutch Max Martin. Anticipating(?) and Slave make it worth the price of admission. It's no In The Zone obviously...

I agree with Chrissy, Boys is a POS and has that ugly irritating CUNT Mike Myers to spoil the otherwise good video... but Pharrell hardly had to do anything after Slave. On the other hand, I basically NEVER liked his muse Kelis and by god did I TRY.

This is reportedly getting an anniversary /re-release treatment for its 25th anniversary with some new unreleased track(s) added on including an unheard collab with the Neptunes. Today they released the “I’m a Slave 4 U” remixes EP on streaming.

Quite looking forward to some from the vaults, and to have one of the Pepsi tracks is rather good (!), but I’d love The Joy of Pepsi :D

For a soft drink jingle it fucking slaps :disco:

Like I mentioned in the VMAs thread, for nine or ten years in a row, we’d get together to watch them live. This was one of the few performances that left all of us completely silent, just watching in awe and absolutely gagged.
If I remember correctly, it was also the first time any of us had heard the song, which made it even better. That felt like a win, especially as we were entering the era when everything started leaking before its official release.

The bop to slop ratio can feel questionable at times, but some tracks sound better in isolation and she was developing the sound even if her winning formula was waning.

Britney doesn't have slop in it and I won't hear OTHERWISE. Unless you meant That's Where you Take Me, but even I Love Rock´n´Roll sounds "ok" some days, although it could have worked better without Darkchild's anemic production.

10 I'm A Slave 4 U

06 I Love Rock'n'Roll

06 Let Me Be

What is When I Say So? @supermassive
It's apparently part of the anniversary release.

I can't believe Cinderella still slaps my tits as hard as it did in OH-THREE. What a banger. It would probably have tanked if it had been a single though.
Not sure if I can link to direct files but if you go to this spreadsheet and scroll down to row 124 and then column F :)

Has Kylie ever performed with live animals? (No puns or jokes, pls).
I know Queen Dannii has performed live-action musical cover versions of Elton John's "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" and "Hakuna Matata" outdoors in natural settings near wild animals, so.

DANNII has her own snake

Not that I'm excusing Dannii but there's a massive difference in using animals in a very loud arena vs on a video shoot.

The previous year's performance is 100x more compelling to me. It doesn't help that the song Slave doesn't really go anywhere, there's no peaks or valleys. There's also something so obnoxious (even for Britney) about someone lipsyncing a song that is mostly just spoken word.

I’m sure I’ve read something about them having 2 seperate albums at the time. A soundtrack album and a standard one. They just decided to scrap the full soundtrack album and combine it all into what eventually became “Britney”.

Her best pre-Blackout album

She'll Never Be Me is fun for 2001. I remember listening to all kinds of looped versions of it and maybe even a leaked full version at some point?

From memory a 90 second clip leaked (not so much leaked but was up for preview on an Amazon like site) when it was listed as b-side on the UK Overprotected single before being removed, that clip was then 'extended' and looped into a full song by some creative :eyes: fans.

A full lower quality of what was release today was leaked shortly before Circus' release so it's not that much of a "vault" track :eyes:

Best. Jingle. Ever.

Why not this :(
I just looked it up at and it first aired Feb 2021, more than 6 months before Britney. Incredible how close together releases were then as her 'aura' for the lack of a better word here is definitely more Britney than OIDIA.
