You should post more.Callum's version is up to 12 on iTunes now. It really takes away a lot of what made the original so great, but I fear that people will think it's more "meaningful" because it's acoustic.

...something about it becoming a much bigger hit than the original is so, so offensive to me.
He hasn't even done the right thing and had it remixed. That I could forgive. I forgave Bastille when they had their Corona/ Snap cover remixed.
It's interesting (and frustrating) that this is a huge hit on commercial radio. That was always a problem Robyn had as I recall - Radio One were very supportive of her, but she never got much airplay elsewhere.
I don't think you can really judge the success of this song in relation to Robyn's lack of commercial radio appeal - Calum's version is deliberately tailored to the kind of stuff that commercial radio is lapping up at the moment. It's no criticism of the original, but I think the source material/artist is actually fairly interchangeable for this sort of thing.
I would just try and look at it with the view that a few people might think: "I like this", do a bit of digging and discover where it came from - if Robyn only gains one fan from it, then it's one more that she might not have had if this hadn't taken off.
The interpretation bugs me, but the success of this version and what it implies pisses me off far more than the fact of its existence.
His voice is an absolute fucking travesty. AWFUL!
It's chart run is super trad: 40 42 36 36 36 38 42 27 28 16 12 10 4
In the olden days the leap from 28 to 16 would have been the week he was first on TOTP.
