Chappell Moan (née Roan)

Regarding Shia: I guess the silver lining is that nobody really cares about what he's up to anymore. At least Chappell is staying relevant (although I need another proper banger from her please, the last few songs didn't do it for me).

So he was just terrorising the poor girl for the FUN OF IT?

Who was he working for?

I really think this all boils down to the mother making a huge scene over nothing. MAIN CHARACTER COMPLEX!

..or maybe Pop culture was in art, now art's in pop culture, in her :zsazsa:

LIST OF VILLAINS

1) The footballer. Starting this, getting away with it scott free because he's a hot man
2) The mother. Clearly fame hungry, deserves jail for the 6 min vid alone
3) The little girl. Evil.
4) The haters on Moopy.co.uk, Moopy.org.uk (freaks), social media and in the press. Does Cwej despise women? Probably :(
5) The Mayor of Rio de Janeiro. Haven't you got bin collections and potholes to be focusing on? Fuck you!

..who has his balls on the wrong way because he's not her actual father, hence him puffing himself up like an alley cat to be the Big Protector Man. Wanker. Hope he breaks a knee.

“I reacted as any father would… by starting an Internet pile on”

yes I think so!! she's still done ten festival dates this year though which seems a bit much given how extensively she toured and did festivals throughout 24-25. I'd like new music sooner rather than later!!

I don’t know if it’s a relatively new thing or I’m just more aware of it but it seems artists make a real go of just touring festivals for a summer (or in Chappell’s case multiple summers). It must be pretty great financially getting all the perks with the non of the risk.

Zara Larsson being this years festival h0

Festivals are really a critical part of a band's financial planning nowadays. It's the reason why a lot of heritage/reforming bands do the festival circuit rather than just their own headlining gigs; they can be a terrific payday but, more commonly, offsets many of the other costs. This is particularly worthwhile for newer bands trying to establish themselves - a 5pm slot in a tent will generate much more income than a headliner in a 500 cap basement. I remember an Australian festival being cancelled for some reason and several UK acts having to pull the tours they were doing around it because the festival had made it financially viable.

I'd imagine Chappell can get a good fee and it keeps the wheels turning while she gets new music together.
