Absolutely appalling. There has to have been an issue with comms. It was weird.

Though the lead female is out of her depth here. She’s getting names wrong, cutting to the wrong person, and why does she keep looking into and beyond the camera when she shouldn’t be?

It’s on a level of when Channel 4 had the coverage for about two years and handed it back to the BBC mid-contract cause they just couldn’t deal with it

Bit worried about how poor the home nations have been in the athletics medal events tonight too. Those distance races were appalling- we couldn’t get anyone in the top 8 in the women’s 10k and came last in the men’s steeplechase, when it wasn’t even fast. Wondering if athletes are peaking for Euros and just trying their luck here, but still, appalling. You have to question why they took 3 athletes in that 10k when we left field eventers who would have been likely top 6 finishers at home.

Thank god for our Para athletes.

I’ve noticed in a lot of venues the areas right where the camera is always going to be seemed to be reserved for what I imagine is team staff/coaching or for commentary positions and just makes it all look so lacking. The gymnastics is a sell-out but you get huge empty pockets right in sight of the cameras at the front because no one’s filling the spaces reserved for team support.

Don’t think it’s the case here. The commentary etc is up in the gods. I think everyone left after the 10k, where they expected to see Eilish McColgan.
