I've developed quite a sore throat over this evening - hopefully it'll disappear overnight, but I hate how paranoid things like this make me now

I've had a sore throat and tight chest a few times since this all kicked off. Having chatted about it with people, am pretty sure it has just been related to anxiety.

The Boris years thread might be over before it has even truly begun

What about the Queen heading to Windsor once the Coronavirus pandemic got in full swing? What about Prince Charles heading up to Balmoral after being DIAGNOSED with Coronavirus? Are these not their 2nd, 3rd or 4th homes?

DOUBLE STANDARDS.

Can't lose your job when you don't work.

She was never going to. She's been trotted out to get the gammons in line. We'll see if it works...(nb - it won't, not if it's going to be sunny all week...)

I thought she seemed very OLD last night. Silly thing to say about a woman in her 90s, but I feel it was the first time she seemed frail that I'd noticed.

Snooker is EXCELLENT

1. It really isn’t
2. Neither is golf, admittedly
3. My point was more that you can’t really MOCK when you made the point about a niche sporting event yourself!

But as you were :D

Wasn’t Charles diagnosed in Scotland?

And the Queen went to Windsor a week before lockdown and has stayed there.

No Charles went to Balmoral to recuperate after his diagnosis.

You may well be right regarding The Queen.

Big reduction in new cases and deaths today. One swallow and all that.

This is what I don’t get. This is of course FANTASTIC news, but Nicola Sturgeon mentioned in her daily briefing that the figures released over the weekend are flawed. Did we not also start counting deaths outside of hospital due to Coronavirus, which have now again been removed?

That’s the weekend reporting thing still though isn’t it? Always drops on a Monday.

They didn't go down so much last monday, just stay a bit flat (which is itself likely underreporting, granted). This is a noticable drop.

My manager was off all last week taking care of his family. Strangely he'd been self isolating (but working from home) way before lockdown due to having asthma, and now he says his wife and 10 year old son both have it, but him and his 12 year old son don't. Not even sure how possible that is with them all under the same roof.

Don’t let him die. We’ll never hear the end of it.

Then again, this is going to do his popularity no harm...

Please let him die! Surviving it now will make him a hero.

It's terribly big news and I'm in the let's not wish death upon him camp but I could do without the entirety of Facebook sharing this article and discussing whether it's OK to not care while the other thousands suddenly take a back seat.

There's a new topic for the Boris news: https://www.moopy.co.uk/threads/boris-johnson-is-in-intensive-care.98644/

My Auntie and Uncle both have it. My Uncle is a very ill man, but they are both recovering.

Oh good grief...pleased to hear they're recovering.

My workplace was absolutely shuddering this afternoon and that was just from a positive diagnosis for a colleague.

This is fucking horrible, I hate it.

I say "facebook friend" because I haven't actually seen him in years, so it's fine. But yes, close to home.

It seems people can carry Coronavirus without ever becoming symptomatic. It's weird. Which is what makes it scary.
