offices with no social distancing woop. What’s with the 16th August anyway ? Surely the relaxation of social distancing and relaxation of the self isolation should coincide.
I’m certainly not having lunch with people and sitting in meeting rooms with a door open is not going to stop me having to self isolate if somebody in there has the virus.
I mean have these wankers in charge ever worked in an open plan office SURROUNDED by people or did they have a nice personal one they can shut a door and open a window.

Open plan offices became so common over the past few years preceding covid that it's almost as if the stars somehow aligned to allow covid to triumph. And despite their instagram appeal they're awful to work in with or without covid.

Oh god yes. I have to put earplugs in at times just so I can hear myself think. Can concentrate so much better at home.
Only positive is that i can find out what is going on from being a nosy bugger and listening in to coversations :D

Had a similar thing here and I assume it just depends which side of the table you were sat on - makes the difference as to whether you were within 2m of a positive person or not!

Nope 50% so 3 days one week 2 days another. I mean I sort of want to go back but seems premarure

The problem is that it's too late as for almost a year the message has been "if you get pinged, you must isolate". When mass lateral flow tests became available they should have shifted the policy/messaging much sooner, but now they've left it too late and people are just abandoning the app in panic.

They're also too late in telling anyone that the symptoms of Delta (especially if vaccinated) are different to the symptoms of OG and Alpha...

I think at this point they just don't give a fuck to be honest, they want everyone to get infected as a "booster" (to... prevent you from getting the thing they want everyone to get? *shrug* it gets the numbers down I guess). It's the original "wild herd immunity" plan except now they can get away with the "acceptable" (not) death levels of the first and second waves while allowing everyone to get infected.
 
I’m not one for conspiracy theories, but the fact that 1.5 million people are projected to get a self-isolation notification from the app this week and yet the government has decided against tweaking the sensitivity makes me think they really do just want us all to delete it.
 
There's a pop up drop in vaccination clinic in Primark here today.

Can't remember if I mentioned this here, but when @Iguana got pinged about a month ago, it was on a Wednesday, for five days which meant staying in over what was going to be one of the nicest weekends of the year. I heard reports of people getting pinged at a similar time and I just couldn't shake the idea that maybe they'd just sent some random pings out to keep people at home.
 
We've had some sudden extended pingage - it's left us short in the office today. Bit of a pisser but hey ho.
 
Everyone I know who's been pinged used the date to trace their exposure back to... attending a vaccination centre, which it patently ludicrous.
 
I got an alert to let me know I'd been in a venue on the same day as somebody who had been tested positive but that I didn't need to self-isolate.

CLOSE ONE.
 
And I don’t think most people, even senior staff, turn it back on.
 
I would love to see this government fail so hard at every turn, but for the fact that the gammons and thickos keep stanning. It's like Eminem and Ed Sheeran but actually impacting people's lives.
 
I work for an NHS Trust but the offices are off site. We are told that we should turn the app off when at work because it is a 'Covid-secure' setting - we are meant to sit two metres apart and are supposed to wear masks all the time. I always left mine on as the adherence to these measures is patchy.
 
We’re also keeping the same restrictions in place, masks/social distancing etc. I’m sure it’ll go down well with the public :eyes:
 
2 waitresses have gone down with it at work! We’re all doing daily tests now and so far so good no one else has it, otherwise we’ll have to close. We’re keeping masks inside next week as we just can’t afford to lose anymore staff.
 
The only reason I don't wish him the worst possible outcome is he's double jabbed so that would have big implications for everyone...
 
I don't wish him anything bad, but I think it's a good thing to have a high profile case of someone catching it despite being double jabbed. People seem to think of they've had the jab they're totally immune.
