Does Boris take the weekend off? He has been noticeably absent all weekend. I am hearing another announcement will be made early this coming week.

My supermarket is urging people not to hoard because there is no shortage of food and products and the shelves will be filled everyday (they are) and instead encouraging people to support the local restaurants before they go bust.

same here but do the cunts listen? do they fuck. I hope they get food poisoning from their canned food, use up all their loo rolls, and go back for more but THERE ISN'T MORE

I mean I like a good shit as much as anyone, but it wasn't my first thought and still isn't!

hope it goes ahead! everything non-essential/non-threatening cancelled here

it's been alarmingly quiet today...
Cheers!

Everything was cancelled in Wales on Friday, but it seems emergency decision making is suspended at the weekend over here. So she'll probably just get in.

Even though public gatherings are banned the morons decided to fill up parks with their families to enjoy the weather and get FRESH AIR to FIGHT THE VIRUS. :)

Im meant to be moving to a new flat on Wednesday but now I'm slightly concerned the world will have stopped spinning by then.

Like, I hope all the moving men don't all go into self isolation. It'd be very bad timing.

We grabbed lunch in a busy cafe today - which I did without thinking and only after even considered. As Dannii says, it's hard to break a habit, especially when we're all just carrying on as normal apparently..

But in there I kept questioning everything I was touching, who might pass what, and then what the fuck is going to happen to all these businesses and workers if we do go into lockdown. Hardly breaking news but it all just hit me at once and the potential is beyond terrifying.

My mum is 68 and laid up in bed with a bad cold. I mean I think she's fine and she's not THAT old, and reasonably healthy, but still...

If lockdown really is the best option I wish the choice would be taken out of our hands so we can all just get on and do it..

I choose to believe that the reason the Spanish schools I've applied for have emailed me is because of this and not because I'm incompetent.

6 elderly people at a Lanarkshire care home have tested positive with the virus. :(

Putting over 70s into isolation for four months is horrible. My father in law is very active and still works. My Dad has only just retired and has problems I've mentioned.

My mum is with my sister in Qatar and is supposed to go back to Lebanon in a few days. Actually worried now.

I can 100% guarantee that my 71-year-old father will not be respecting any quarantine. Not when theres a pub with beer in.

The web has been hacked, look who's on top now :D:square:

They talk of Blitz spirit etc... Now, I wasn't there obviously but from what I heard of it the big reason that worked is people were TOGETHER. Yes things were bad but they had each other and could bounce moral support off each other, look out for one another, sing stuff together in the pubs to raise morale, etc. Maybe part of that is dumb TV romanticisation but that's the gist as I've always heard it.

Here we have a thing that forces everyone to distance themselves and worry themselves sick alone. That, is fucking awful.

That and the bombardment in the media. BBC news earlier was just Coronavirus, nothing else, and featured harrowing footage of a grieving old lady who'd just lost her husband, sat outside gasping for breath. Still can't shake that one from my head.

We've only started isolating today here, and I'm already struggling mentally, and I'm relatively young and normally positive. Shutting lonely 70+ year olds away for 3 months... Christ, I almost think if I was in that position I'd rather just let it take me. But I also know how strong the instinctive will to live is, even when mentally it's lacking.

Let's have a bit of perspective here people. Coronavirus is pretty grim, but it is in no way as bad as going to bed every night with the very real possibility of being blown up while you sleep.

I didn't mean to compare it to the war, just to highlight the difference when it comes to the coping method some are bandying about

How bad is it in Qatar? I need to check on my friends.

my mom is in Paris with my sister and if they don’t get the virus I fear they will kill each other from being locked up in my sister’s tiny apartment.

So one of my close mates was with his brother at the weekend, his brother is now unable to get out of bed with fever, cough etc.

His Mrs is a few weeks pregnant, he's been told not to go into work for 2 weeks.

What a shit time to be pregnant.

They have said there is no danger for pregnant women, though, right? I’m sure I read that.

Don’t get me wrong, you don’t want this shit, but they’re not considered vulnerable I don’t think.

I’ve just been sent home from work until Wednesday. Because I was ill last week, I have to go a full 7 days before I’m allowed into the office.
Might have been nice if they’d told me this BEFORE I got the train in, mind.
