We are now actually Number 12 country in the world and look like overtaking Singapore and Switzerland tomorrow for our first top 10 placing. As a teacher, I'm obviously desperately hoping we don't hit the same kind of numbers as Italy because it would be DEVASTATING if I was forced not to work for a few weeks. Simply DEVASTATING.

Not for the kids, surely?

Interesting that China only reported 21 new cases in the last day. Either they're talking shit or this whole thing is going to be a damp squib.

There's a very good chance of the former - they're not exactly known for projecting an honest picture to the world.

But then, neither are we, in many respects.

The good thing about this whole thing is that some adults will now finally learn how to wash their hands.

We've just bought a £24 bottle of hand soap to encourage everyone to wash their hands in the office.

My theory for anyone who cares. The WHO and governments know this isn't going to kill millions, but because its highly contagious they're treating it as such as practice for DISEASE X which would be both contagious and deadly. Like a dress rehearsal stress test to see how the global economy and infrastructure cope in a potentially deadly global pandemic.

I'm not even smoking weed at the minute.

Oooh I picked up some MOLTON BROWN last week- our local has a "handwash and hand lotion for £20" offer on. JUST SO YOU KNOW.

I'm not sure it's Corona-friendly.

As if. People still don't give a shit.
I've tried to touch everything with a tissue yesterday (clean and disposed of immediately obviously) to see if I could do it if I had to, never realized how many fucking things you have to touch each and every day when you're in work or out and about.

I've been trying to do that at work to see how difficult it is. I'm wearing a jumper with really BAGGY arms that can cover my hands which is helping, if I wasn't it would be almost impossible

Yeah what if you're only wearing a t shirt when the weather picks up (well I guess in other countries, not here in Ireland)? Can't use your elbow for everything!
You're also supposed to sanitize your smartphone every evening when you get home. Such a head wreck.

Usually the most simple explanation is the most plausible(?), so I think they all know it’s not going to kill millions, but since it is highly contagious, no country’s healthcare system and economy could bear the weight of having millions out of work and in need of medical care simultanenously, and therefore trying to prevent that from happening.

I have an airbnb staying at my flat this weekend when I'm out. I ran out of hand soap and couldn't get it anywhere this morning. So I had to shove some shower gel in the soap dispenser. I hope I don't kill them. x

Belgium suddenly with over 100 cases, where did that come from? Guys, keep touching and licking everything or you'll never make the top 10 :disco:

I don't think I've have a BREAKING NEWS notification on my phone for about 5 hours. Is it over?

Sweden over 100 now and I didn’t even get a notification. It’s over.

They were around 50 yesterday and like the Netherlands two days ago and Sweden earlier this week they doubled their numbers in one day.

Currently being paid full wage to teach one morning of lessons a week online.

I don't know what will become of me.

I’ve decamped to a spoke site, where desk sharing is rife

See you on the other side

I just went out for my weekly shop and it's MAD. I went three shops and so many empty aisles. No pasta, toilet roll, cleaning equipment, cereals. Not a single hand wash anywhere, let alone hand sanitizer.

The Boots at Liverpool St has hand sanitiser but they're keeping it BEHIND THE TILL and it's strictly ONE PER CUSTOMER!

This is my first afternoon out in almost a week. Will report back after my trip to Wilkos :disco:
