It doesn’t seem to be taking much of a hold in warm countries. It’s odd that Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong all had their first cases 6 weeks ago but now have less cases than most European countries that only had their first cases 14 days ago. I’m not a SCIENTIST but it seems that warm weather really arrests it spread.

Maybe they're not testing enough people, that's why in some (poor) countries appear to be less cases, I think.

that’s the plan I think
Then way can all say hurray for climate change even though it’s just spring arriving

almost like it’s just flu season

All the poor countries are fine because corona can’t get through the existing diseases they all have.

I mean what chance does a young debutant infection have against established names like rabies, smallpox and scrofula?

My barber shop putting a mask on me as soon as I walked through the front door. :D

That sounds hot. I'd be having getting rolled up in a carpet in the back of a van fantasies for the whole of the cut.

Oh tell me about it. And given that this is my guy and he's forever wearing tank tops and shoving his pits in my face the whole time. :D

Is that you in the chair? I can’t remember what your face looks like, only your bum hole

Edit: Oh!!! I just saw the photo thread!

:D now I’m imagining like the smoking man from X Files writing his report “World is not ready for disease X yet” and stamping it *POSTPONED* with a sigh. Then putting it in an office document storage box with a canister of Disease X

Replace the smoking man for Michele Barnier and you’ve nailed it

Absolutely HOWLING at the football banning handshakes but letting men sweat and spit and breath all over each other.

no one of that hoarding nonsense here... YET. and when it begins people often go crazy for YEAST

I've just put two bottles of hand sanitiser for £100 on FB Marketplace. :)

This just in: 21 new cases in Stockholm meaning that we’ve just surpassed UK... however still only right outside the top 10.

Oh how disappointing, it seems that the new cases were already included so we’re back at #12.

I just had a delivery from Ocado and the man was MOANING about people ordering BULK SUPPLIES of BAKED BEANS and BOTTLED WATER

But what will you drink when people who work at the water company get infected and no one is there to pump water into your tap.... :eyes:

Going to the supermarket now, will report shortage of toilet roll or crème de menthe.

Apparently it's 50% more likely to be fatal in MEN :o

I’ve heard that too... what’s the story behind it?

Exactly that. The more people you test the more cases you'll establish, including mild cases where the person hasn't felt the need to declare themselves "ill".

I'm tempted to have a gander at the bog roll aisle out of morbid curiosity :D Lucky for us we happen to buy masses of it anyway and did so before any of this nonsense started. And if all else fails it's not like the Daily Hate is in short supply!

At a beer festival last night they were pouring the beer into plastic glasses then handing them over so you could pour it into the glass glass you got on entry then discard the plastic glass. Greta would be fuming.

Bizzarely people seemed to be stocking up on eggs as well.

Yes! My usual Tesco was completely out of eggs yesterday and certain tins and pastas were in very short supply. Plenty of loo roll mind you but absolutely nowt by way of hand soap or sanitiser.

Out of any liquid handsoap here just now in the local Co-Op, but stacked full of bars of soap.

Thankfully I usually get enough in the way of shower gels and bath stuff to last me through to summer so I'll cope.

The annoying thing is...the bottle of Carex I have in my bathroom is about 3 weeks away from running out. I had better be able to buy myself a new bottle as normal by that time.

Shower gel is essentially just a slightly weaker hand wash, isn't it?

Mind you, I'd happily wash my hands in washing up liquid for a few weeks at least.
