Yes if the number of probable cases was between 5000-10000 a few days ago, it's certainly much higher now.

i feel like in this country, every household with people aged over 50 have an emergency stash of food. my mother has kept a full freezer at all times since i remember her. they've lived through scary stuff already. a couple of queues apart, i hope it remains as civil and calm as it has been.

his whole response has been of someone who has absolutely no apathy and is only interested in himself and in enriching himself. it's disgraceful and he should be tried for his behaviour.

Where is Boris in all of this? We don't seem to have heard from him in a while.

Of course it would be a shame to interupt him if he's relaxing at Chequers but it would be helpful if he showed a bit of LEADERSHIP given the MASS PANIC that has ensued this weekend. :eyes:

Well...the story goes that the huge borrowing figures released by Rishi Sunak during the week in a budget that went almost unnoticed are, of course, going to have to be paid back. The plan was to start the official full-on sell off of the NHS in 2021/22 to do so. This is why Johnson is talking about flattening the curve...if the NHS is seen to struggle, the focus won't be on "well, we'll need to sell it", it'll be on "we need to improve it" and the fear is that they won't be able to hoodwink a grieving angry public. The NHS being unable to cope with this and excess deaths arising from that can only land at his door.
 
That he's just won a GE is massively frustrating. At least Trump is going to be put to the test soon.
 
How many times now has #whereisboris been a trending hashtag since December? It's up there again. I'm sure he's told by Cummings to keep his head down in the hope that people won't associate him with all the calamities over which he has presided.

My friend got back from skiing last night in france. A member of their group had a friend in the resort who they were all hanging around with. That friend is now in hospital critical. Makes my front line experience in Barcelona look weak in comparison.

Mostly worried about Italy. That Lega Nord cunt (whose name escapes me) will surely get the majority of the votes in next elections.
 
My supermarket is urging people not to hoard because there is no shortage of food and products and the shelves will be filled everyday (they are) and instead encouraging people to support the local restaurants before they go bust.
 
I actually feel quite blessed that my Gran got a good send off last week, as all hotels and pubs are now closed.
 
My mum's operation is Monday morning. Hoping nothing radical changes by then.
