If masks ends up being required surely there'll be a panic-buying spree that'll make the toilet paper supermarket fights look like a gentle cuddle.
 
I wore my new all-black mask this morning. Too warm and uncomfortable for a full half-hour walk into work, especially when there was NO-ONE around. Think I'll save it for shopping and very, very occasional uses of the subway.

So glad I live and work in a city where public transport is by bike apart from the one day a month it rains too hard, and then I just pretend I've got a delivery coming and stay home :) even over Winter I can't have taken a tram more than 4 or 5 times.
 
The UK government are going to talk about the next stages next Sunday! :o I take it lockdown will continue for another few weeks then, as this stage is meant to end on Thursday? Surely, also If they announce a phased exit from lockdown on a Sunday things will not be happening on a Monday.
 
There are +700 dead every day in the UK while the rest of Europe is on +200 figures, frankly they would be mad to start lifting any restrictions as soon as next week.

Some of my friends in Spain have spent two months locked in, no 'sport time' allowed. All things considered, the UK's lockdown has been QUITE MILD.

RIGHT! My friends in Milan have literally been in their homes for nearly 2 months.

I did read that the several polls (:eyes:) have found the UK is hugely opposed to lifting lockdown at the moment, which is a big relief that we aren't heading to US levels of INSANITY.
 
Are we still on 700+ a day? I thought it was much lower now and we had a random re-peak last week when they added in some care home deaths or something?

I thought we were down in the 300-400s now, no?
 
There has definitely been an inevitable dip. We really do need to keep this lockdown for at least a month I reckon.
 
It's almost WILFULLY confusing with the HOSPITAL figures and the ALL SETTINGS figures and the fact that some statistics include newly-confirmed deaths from days if not weeks ago and some don't.
 
One suspects it's just incompetence rather than wilful. Maybe a stodgy mix.
 
Oh it's totally been manipulated, come on! For a start the UK magically never goes over the psychological barrier of 1,000 deaths a day (...) and once you've gone over 20,000 deaths you magically dump 6,000 new deaths from retirement homes on a Friday when no one's watching.

I mean, in the grand scheme of things keeping a tally to compare with other countries isn't particularly helpful or gives any extra insight, but it's obvious the government has been massaging these figures to save face nationally.
 
Essentially - they massaged the figures down because they didn't want people to panic. Now that hospital deaths are coming down, they're massaging them back up again so that people won't resist lockdown.

It's what's usually known as a "fucking shambles".
 
I have friends and relatives who've had it and you certainly wouldn't know it from their social media.
 
Piers Morgan has been QUITE CONFRONTATIONAL with the government when they've been fudging the figures on his show, which is more than you can say for Boris' cuck-in-chief Robert Peston, or Laura 'can we go out yet, daddy?' Kuenssberg.

It's just a shame he takes the same aggressive approach to society's most shit upon.
 
I'm staying well clear of a tracking app developed by some bloke from the dodgy Vote Leave campaign tbh.
 
I wish the French hadn't said they'd found that someone there had had it at the end of last year. Now my mother, everyone and their DOG is DRONING on about how the COLD they had over Christmas 'MUST HAVE BEEN CORONA' :rolleyes:
 
I’ve been using the KINGS COLLEGE one, update it once a day asking if you’re feeling well and if you’ve had a covid test. It then links to a LIVE MAP with the cases in your area etc.

I'm also seeing people on twitter blaming the CHINESE students that took their university places in September. Cos you know it was the CHINESE wasn't it? :eyes:
