I really don't care about non-essential retail. Its not my idea of FUN traipsing around Primark.

I'm more concerned about the gyms closing, not because that's my idea of fun either, but because Christmas is fattening.

Oh for fucks sake GYMS are closing too! :D

My gym reopened just as I came back home for Christmas and now I won’t be able to go when I go back to uni next month :cry:
 
When I had tested positive but was asymptomatic, I tried some "home workouts". It lasted about 2 days and I hurt my back slightly, which made me feel kind of old

I mean we were in during the last national lockdown. And UNLIKE SCHOOLS, they actually have effective infection control (wear a mask at all times, social distancing, lecture theatres cleaned after each lecture, staggered teaching etc).

It's so fucking frightening. I'm trying to do all we can at work, but it's really difficult when my own staff won't wear masks all the time, or people insist on coming all the way from fucking PETERBOROUGH to see us.

For me it's more that I knew MONTHS ago I wouldn't be doing what I normally do i.e. CLUBBING. Then it became pretty obvious that the pubs wouldn't be open late either.
 
Surely these tiers are just delaying the inevitable. If I were English, I would want a full lockdown. The only reason I don't support it here is that the government isn't providing enough financial support so many people will starve/be evicted

Well that's what half the island think :D

I actually think it's a mixture of people coming to us, islanders going shopping in Southampton and Portsmouth. Islanders being too blasé about the whole thing.

We also have a lot of factories and call centres here so cases are spreading in them putting our figures up.

Why are garden centres classed as essential?

And why aren't clothes shops? I need new pants and trousers and walking socks and Im very specific as to where I buy them.

Yep! Islanders love a Primark and we dont have one.

I mean not hundreds going at a time. But I guess it only takes a couple to go and catch it and bring it back.

Now the island is calling for a "close our borders, cancel the ferries" movement :square:

Because posh people have gardens you know. Same as to why hunting gatherings of six were allowed a while ago whilst you were not allowed to mingle with more than 1 person elsewhere.

We have been told at work that if we don't wear full ppe at all times then we get a disciplinary. Maybe you should do similar :(
 
I need something very much NON essential from Boots, which I assume is still open, and I don't know whether to go or not :shy:

I think a lot of clothes shops are still doing click & collect. As for garden centres and why they are essential, FUCK KNOWS.
 
Boots is open, if only because they have a chemist's inside! And yes you can click and collect on pretty much every other shop on the high street, which doesn't help much when it comes to CLOTHING but oh well. I've been living in tracksuit bottoms for 10 months!

I went for a walk in my high street yesterday and SEVERAL shops were open anyway, an antiques shop which is HARDLY ESSENTIAL and a couple of PHONE SHOPS which is... debatable I guess.
 
I need new trousers for work because I've got too fat for my current ones but I need to try them on :(

I might just turn up for work in pyjamas
 
The Isles of Scilly are still in Tier 1! With literally everywhere else in 3 or 4, it will be the only place to get a pint :(
 
Dropping tier 4 on us with less than twelve hours' notice, the spineless, useless, mop haired, fat cunt. If he REALLY wanted to help the country he should have fucking died when he had the chance.

My January blues literally kicked in on Boxing Day this year, this fucking bungee lockdown and the looming shitness of Brexit have shepherded it in a few weeks early.

I'm glad the vaccine is offering some hope, but I know COUNTLESS people who don't want it so it'll be more a protective thing than a herd immunity thing. Hopefully once everyone has at least been offered it we can move on... but I suspect this will go on for some time and a general election battleground will be "team mandatory vaccination" vs team "just open up all the things and let people die"

Hate gyms so not bothered there, I'll go on walks, do beat Saber and push ups. I just want to see IRL friends sometime without terrifying my parents.
