Paradise is really quite nice. It would've fit just fine on the main tracklist, but it feels a TOUCH more downbeat/somber so I can see why it was left off. really lovely production - the strings are gorge. maybe the hook is a little weaker than the music.

Halcyon (original release) is generally considered her masterpiece. A much more ethereal, singer-songwriter-y affair than Delirium. It's a highly depressing album, but bleakly beautiful. the Halycon Days reissue with Burn etc goes a bit more in the pop direction and is also great, and approx 45 songs long.

Heal produced by one half of Disclosure and Jimmy Napes, AKA Sam Smith's go-to collaborators. I wonder if this is more the sound she wanted to pursue before LMLYD went stratoshperic and the label pushed for a Max Martin/Greg Kurstin superpop record. I imagine it was.

clearly the best bonus track for me.

the whole MYSTIQUE around this album, the way it's SO divisive, the way it was kind of commercially disappointing despite containing 2.5 hit singles... on top of the fact that it's a fucking ROCK SOLID POP RECORD, it all adds up to one of my favourite pop girl campaigns ever I think. it's full of very special memories for me.

it's also interesting that, assuming she was pushed to make a pop record, the results feel so natural. I hope she doesn't actually hate it now.
