Yeah, England with a good path to the finals. But I guess exactly therein lies the potential difficulty. :) Get psyched up vs Germany, experience a let down in the QFs.
 
England should take confidence from such a massive win, but we can't underestimate any of the teams in our half of the draw now. Sweden/Ukraine/Denmark/Czech Republic will have seen how much we struggled to break down Scotland.

Southgate finally got his subs right in this match and he can't be afraid of making more changes if we're trying to get past a parked bus.

It was in the group stages (3 points if you won the game, 1 if you drew) but it’s just based on who wins each game once you get to the knockout stages.

I think it's still true up until today - England have never beaten a "big" country in a knockout game inside 90 minutes.

Until, indeed, today.
 
I mean, playing the team that got through to the last sixteen effectively by placing 16th in the group stages would be a pretty decent draw.

Obviously not a knock-out game and it doesn't seem like much of an achievement given they went out early, but the only comparable result I can remember was when we beat Argentina 1-0 in the 2002 World Cup.

This is the only the second time we've ever won a knock-out game at the Euros! No wonder it's hard to find anything else like it.

Depends what you consider to the a 'big' country. England beat Belgium in 90 minutes in the last 16 of Italia 90.
 
Sweden are a man down with 20 mins of extra time to go. The runts might go through.
