@funky @Alex What is the likelihood of getting knifed to death in Anfield and/or Toxteth please?
Why are you looking to stay there too?
Anfield is part of the “North Liverpool” as in inner city north, which includes Everton, Walton, Kirkdale and parts of Bootle and is considered one of the most deprived parts of the country. All your worst elements of the impact of Thatcher Britain, a forgotten area that needs a lot of help.
But it’s not just that - Anfield has no train station, barely any buses, difficult to get an Uber, there’s no shops, no bars, it’s just sadly forgotten land. Unless you’re going to a match there’s absolutely no reason to stay there.
And especially because Liverpool as a REGION is one of the biggest metro areas in the country, so there’s no actual need to, there’s so much other choice.
Best place outside the very centre is to look at central south - Brunswick, Aigburth, Cressington, Garston, Sefton Park
Places in central south like Wavertree, Edge Hill and Toxteth aren’t exactly Knightsbridge but they have much better transport links and more going on.
Anywhere along the coast north of bootle strand is fine. But they contain some of the wealthiest parts of U.K. so air b&b will be expensive. I’d personally stay there but I’m old and snobby.
