Easily in the Top 3 of the whole F/W 26 season. I'll post my full list later, but Haider Ackerman's Tom Ford is one of the most consistent things in fashion right now. His collection was slinky, severe, clinical. He's doing what half of New York designers THINK they're doing.

F/W 26/27 was actually half decent (as long as you pretend NYFW doesn't exist).
My top 5:
5 - Christian Dior (JWA actually seems to be trying to push forward)
4 - Tod's (barely noticed this brand until this collection. Very fresh.)
3 - Issey Miyake (Just a masterclass in textile)
2 - Tom Ford (Ackerman's TF is one of the very few reliable outputs in 2026. He just gets the ruthless TF woman so well.)
1 - Erdem (Nice to see London Fashion Week still packing a punch. This was GORGEOUS. The craftsmanship is off the charts. Reminds me of Galliano.)

I'm actually surprised they're doing so financially poor. I always thought they were one of the more stable brands. Random, but I HATE how many 'ambassadors' they have. Your neighbor's cat is probably a D&G ambassador. It's just so detrimental to brand perception - something that literally makes ALL the difference for luxury brands.
Regardless, Stefano's resignation is really sad because I can't help but feel it's linked to the brand's financial hardship. It would feel even more shocking but with the deaths of Valentino and Giorgio Armani and Donatella resigning all in the last year, there isn't really much to say. Probably wise to resign alongside the greats. You can feel the old order passing away. It's gonna be interesting to see how all their successors will interact with each other AND with Anna W's successor too.

John Galliano Is the Subject of the Next Costume Institute Show
The Met Costume Institute will dedicate its 2027 spring show to the work of legendary designer John Galliano.
He’s one of the most influential designers of his generation, that is not up for discussion, therefore his work is worthy of an exhibit.
The comments that got him fired from Dior were disgusting but made by someone in active addiction. Cancel culture can’t go on if it offers no chance of redemption or forgiveness, otherwise what does it achieve?
I believe the works he has created deserve to be celebrated, if not for him for the hundreds of others that brought them to life.

With that being said, I wouldn’t personally sign this exhibit off in the current political climate. It feels a little provocative.
Do I think he’s worthy of a gala exhibit. Absolutely. Should it happen in 2026 when anti-semitism is such a sensitive issue. Probably not.

I think I feel similarly. His talent and work are monumental, and I'm glad they're being fought for. But 2026 was the worst year to pick that fight because antisemitism is so much politically hotter NOW than it was in 2011. Back then, Galliano's controversy was largely contained to him and his career. In 2026, antisemitism means he's entangled with wars, terrorism, genocide, protests and Gwyneth Paltrow. So it's spoiling the tribute more than anything else.
I know Anna W keeps giving us corpo speak about how his flaws are 'actually part of the exhibition', but it all reads as very poorly executed corporate reputation laundering.
A shame because he's not even that old. They could've waited another decade if they wanted to. The industry isn't short on other legends to admire in the meantime.

Yeah it's SUPER good to see her. I think she came a little too close to ruining her face with some questionable plastic surgery some decade or two ago, but she looks gorgeous here and comes across as so warm. She's just like how I remember her.
